I've seen quite a lot of negative comments on various boards about HDN and I'm not disputing the problems people have had but I would just like to say that the drivers I deal with at work and at home have been absolutely brilliant this Christmas. They have helped me with heavy boxes, taken notice of the notes I've left for them and I haven't had one damage either. So HDN in South Norfolk - well done and thank you!

  • i cant agree more, the man who delivers mine (Goole, East Yorkshire) is fantastic.
Again with the heavy boxes, any problems he will help no matter what.
Always polite and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Maybe there are a few nice ones out there.
Although like every company i bet there are a few bad ones.
  • wish we could have one of your drivers round here :rotfl: I am heavily pregnant, HDNL man dumps large box (was a cot) on doorstep and runs off, ok he was in a hurry but just a step inside my front door would of been nice :o
Oh and not forgetting dumping parcels x3 all on seperate occasions in wet bushes in the rain
Shame a few crap drivers give the company a bad name IMO

Where I live the drivers are good, the admin staff are a bit dim
  • I have a great driver who comes to my work too (chester) very nice and chatty, and always the same times.

Last Christmas I had a terrible time with HDN which resulted in me crying down the phone that they had ruined Christmas.

This year has been the complete opposite and my orders have been arriving in half the time they used to (Littlewoods), with nothing going missing and packages left in a safe place rather than having to book a day off for redelivery.

I found out that some of the problems I had last year were down to Littlewoods policies rather than HDN and that they have now changed things for the better.

A lot of complaints about HDN seem to be about particular drivers rather than the company as a whole.

For Stafford, HDN and CityLink have poor drivers, the other main couriers like ParcelForce, FedEx, UPS etc are great. Only had HDN start this year and now have no choice but to stop ordering from Amazon and Play.com due to damaged goods, i have actually yet to receive a working item delivered by HDN, i will now be sitting at home till Wednesday to ensure i catch the driver before he breaks my replacement that i have had to pay for on top of the damaged one to ensure Christmas delivery.
CityLink i have 20-40% returned due to damaged goods / packaging, so far HDN are a 100% write off here.

HDNL drivers are under incredible pressure to get increasing numbers of deliveries completed in a day. Their drivers have warned them time and again that something would have to give.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

No, I didn't. I just remember last year the girl I spoke to at the HDN depot trying to be helpful but telling me they had loads of problems with Littlewoods orders because you couldn't use an alternative delivery address for the first three months as a customer and as HDN only deliver Monday to Friday and as I work full time it caused a lot of problems.
  • I've got brilliant home delivery drivers up here in Newcastle.
They're realy helpful and will bring stuff through for you and put it where you want it.
They're friendly and I just can't fault them to be honest.
