Bought some BOSS aftershave from boots and got a 'free gift'- matching spray deoderant. It was just a loose can, not a box set and it shows up on the reciept as being £0.00.
Ive since spotted the aftershave a lot cheaper online so Im going to return it to boots. Will they ask for the 'free gift' back? Do I have to give them it back?
Ive used it a couple of times and it was free afterall right?

Well it isnt really free is it, its part of a package deal which involved you handing over money, yes you have to and you should give it back.Aha, so thats how you do a signature!0

It wasnt really... it was literally me walking up to the cheque out with the aftershave then the sales assistant saying "oh you get a free deoderant with that".
It didnt state that on the aftershave, it was as though they were just giving them out to everyone who bought aftershave or perfume of a certain value. My girlfriend was given a similar thing when she bought perfume.
So its on the reciept as a separate line but with £0.00. So Im wondering if when I return the aftershave they will spot the deoderant on the reciept.0 -
... give it back ... it's Christmas!!!0

Yes you need to return it.
Whats strange about this? Absolutely nothing,0 -
So in a supermarket BOGOF deal you could return the one you paid for and keep the free one? The free item was given on condition of you buying the aftershave. If your return the aftershave I expect they'll be wanting the deoderant too0

Of course you should return it. If it was faulty you wouldn't expect them to forget about it being a free gift when you returned it.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

As you've used it you can't return it and as it was part of a deal, you might not be able to return the aftershave either.0

Depends on the terms of the deal. I suspect the freebie may actually be a promotional freebie given out for transactions over a certain amount or some other condition, but not as part of a bundle. OP did not buy it as part of a bundle either. In that case, I would say that the paid for item is returnable to the extent it would be normally.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Something doesn't smell right about this.
Why not just take the deodorant back, don't sweat over it.
Mind you, if you don't take it back you might be left high and dry.All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
We could do this all the time, buy one get one free, buy one get two free, buy one get a free gift, 3 for 2 etc., keep taking back all the paid for items and keep the free ones. Never have a shopping bill again! Very MSE.
