  • Simple. I expected sensible 'financial' advice, not moral judgements from middle-aged prats with nothing better to do with their boring lives once Coronation Street has finished.

If you think me morally wrong in what I've done, fine - I fully understand and accept the consequences, but PLEASE do not think the banks deserve any level of sympathy. Stop looking at the smoke people and look for the fire, what you see and hear on the TV is perhaps not the whole truth! At least do some investigation and develop yourselves an informed opinion to advise others from.

    Goodbye.

You got financial advice - pay your debts..

It's post's like these are making MSE look a bit embarassing tbh, used to be good sound advice now all about how can I get out of paying what I owe.

You took a gamble and on this occasion, you lost. What other advice are you hoping for? You could contact one of the claims companies and give them £500 or so and see if you have any better luck the next time. In the end though, i believe you are going to have to sort out some way of paying the debt and look forward to your credit rating improving in about 6 years time.
Sorry, it must be due to my age.

I have never, ever, watched Coronation Street.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

I watched it once, but I think I got away with it.

If you feel the solicitors gave wrong advice, or behaved wrongly, then contact www.legalcomplaints.org.uk
  • i dont know why people are giving you a hard time for trying to find a way out of paying your loan back given the disgusting disgraceful theft that the banks have done on many of us albeit now legalised theft at the say of the stupreme court... personally if you have any evidence that your solisitors mis led you then complain in house before going to a complaints commision against your lawyers

I think the OP has already tried to complain to the solicitors and been given the cold shoulder. I believe the next option is a complaint to the Law Society as I mentioned above.

I DO think that you should pay back what you owe BUT I am wondering how what the op has done is any different to all of those who cca the cc/bank etc and so seek to make a loan unenforcable. They are all saying that they took the money--and that they should not pay it back.

We have paid back all that we owed--we took it--spent it and paid it back. I can understand not wanting to pay it back, but I fail to see how these two approaches are so different.
