MM I see what you mean.
Perhaps a nice hello would be better, or one day when OP is going shopping asking if he needs anything would be a nice gesture.
just thinking he may feel a little cross at the moment and take anything the wrong way.Ebay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50

Hi OP (and others) I have read the whole thread and i'm really pleased that you now seem to have aresolution.
I think an acknowledgement of this situation is in order too. Maybe a letter saying that whilst you understand that the driveway is his, that you really do appreciate the effort he is now making to ensure that you can get too and from your door and that it will certainly make it easier for when the baby is born and you need to get a buggy in and out of the house. This might just prepare him for the fact that this needs to be an ongoing solution and not a temporary one.
He may just be very lonely and a friendly gesture like this in a pretty card may just soften him towards you slightly.

wonder how long this will last, guess I will have to wait and see.
At least it gives me a little bit less stress for the time being if he continues not parking there and could really do without his crap as just found out I am being referred to the neurologist to try to get to the bottom of my problems since the car crash
Thanks again for all your advice and will be back if things start up again.
I wonder if he's read your thread ? It is possible.;)
Anyway so far good result I hope he continues this for you, if not Pink Shoes post is worth allot of consideration :T
Fingers crossed please keep up dating this thread amd good luck with the neurologistWow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

If he has he might possibly politely ask littlemiss8084 to take the lock that she had fitted on the gate denying him access to his washing line in the first place..
Could be that actually she is bullying him and asking on here for mechanisms to make his life worse and justification for her behaviour.
pinkshoes has intimated that the op should kick his walking stick away and get his licence revoked, probably also get him locked away in an old peoples home, so he can never be a nuisance to anyone again.
Lets hope he is not anybodies granddad on this forum:eek:.
He could just simply be wanting to hang his y-fronts out on his washing line, which he may be entirely entitled to do.
How about littlemiss8084 take the lock off the gate (or better still give him a key) he could actually be a very very helpfull neighbour to a pregnant woman with hopefully no neurological problems. Old men, believe it or not, can sometimes be very sympathetic and kind.
lets face it by parking as he did he was obviously making some kind of statement.

Its not his washing line, its hers that the previous owner used to let him use.0 -
I don't think that duncan303 has read the whole thread, not sure how he would feel if he couldn't get in our out of his own home or use his garden. Worse still have someone else using their washing line when they have a perfectly good one in their own garden.
I think the statement he was making by parking as he did was that he was an inconsiderate a**e.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

I read it as the neighbour has his own garden/space and his own rotary washing line but wanted to use hers on her bit of land because its a straight line.
whatever your problem is with what has been posted, don't throw the bullits at me, I only posted once!Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

fair enough........ I accept the ownership of the line could be hers... but there's some possibility to suggest that it might be on his land. All irrevant when we are privvy to the essence of intention with which the locked gate was installed, as evidenced by the OPs' own phrasing.
Anyway he has decided to conceed parking on his driveway for the moment, I am simply making the point that there is a small hint that the fight is reciprocal and I have decided to swap allegence and am standing up for the old man who is not here to defend himself. Things are not always as they seem when one only has one side to a story.
I am only too happy to help right a wrong, but am not too keen on being hoodwinked into beating an elderly person down.
so she locked him out and possibly as a result he parked thoughtlessly on his drive, unless she can take control of the situation he is going to continue to find ways to make her life unpleasant. and that she does not need right now.
anyway I think I am done on this thread now anyway......... all done for me.
Ps I know my ABC and my CMYK I apologise.. it was not my intention to "bullit" you.
And to all others who are going to jump on me and have a kick......... fair enough as you will.

Again, do you actually READ posts??
Actually, if you read the bottom paragraph of my post, it says that the suggestion of him potentially losing his licence (thus independence) would hopefully be enough to stop him parking like an ejit.
Going through with something like that would obviously be a last resort.
Also, do you let your own neighbours wander into your own garden and hang your Y fronts on your personal washing line, rather than hanging them in their own garden on their own line? If you do, then you are rather odd, but each to their own I suppose. Whatever turns you on... ;-)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Just an idea, but how about popping round with a nice bottle of plonk and a card, and saying 'Thank you so much for your considerate parking, its made getting out of the door with my big bump so much easier, thanks for noticing' I 'know' you are just sucking up, you 'know' you are just sucking up but he 'will' think twice about ever doing it again cos 'that nice young girl said my parking was thoughtful and gave me wine':rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0
