Mobiles.co.uk, am i wrong?

First of all hello everyone :)

Second of all i am apparently a fool for trying to buy something from mobiles.co.uk.

I am in the process of attempting to cancel my order currently through the seemingly dead customer service department. I should of received my handset on monday but i contacted DHL and they informed me that they only had the paper work but no handset/parcel to send. So I contacted mobiles.co.uk and told them that i would like to cancel my order before i actually get phone as to prevent any returns hassels. as i'd changed my mind for a different phone anyway

They replied with

'Hello,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately your order has already been dispatched, if you could let us know once you have delivery of this order we will be able to set up a return for you.

Sorry for the inconvenience. '

Shouldn't they just be able to cancel the order out right seeing as no handest for me appears to actually exist/has been sent or recieved dispatched by DHL

Thanks for any advice!

Old chestnut - if the phone is dispatched, dhl cannot act as a business arm of a retailer, stopping and canceling items.
Get a return reference from mobiles.co.uk - and return the item within 14 days unused (noting to do so quickly with christmas period).

they dispatched it internally.. i.e its already going through the process. Just return the phoen to them..If you buy from a cheap place... expect CS to be lower... so be damnsure you aint going to cancel I used mobiles.co.uk to get PS3 + phone and i got what i wanted for cheapest amount... so was happy.

[Edit] Used lol. funny typo :)

Unfortunately once the phone is despatched there is nothing that can be done, I'm not sure what your situation is with DHL but best bet is to email Returns using the website and request the return. If you get carded by DHL we can request a return from the depot, I believe, but Returns will sort you out.

Would the best idea not be to just refuse delivery?

Once again you will not take ownership of the problem and pass the buck. What is the point in you being here?
