I buy the Morrison own brand. OH is extremely fussy about his Weetabix but he likes it and reckons it tastes the same as the original Weetabix.0

Hubby likes Aldi own brand ones.

I know someone who used to work there, apparently if they are weetabix shaped then they have to be weetabix. The only ones that aren't are the different shaped ones.0

I remember a thread somewhere on here where 'toothsmith' recommended organic weetabix. Now I can never tell the difference between brands - apart from bread and coffee, but I tried this and I think it's far nicer than the regular stuff (still buy the own brand for the kids though)0

Imagine thier bowels  Actually.... dont...
When I worked for the ice cream factory (DREAM JOB I WISH I STILL DID WORK THERE!!) outside town, it was lower grade lines that went to supermarkets, and high grade that was our own brand. Difference is like someone said above, extra water content, less colouring etc.Barclaycard - £489.74 / £500.00

My MIL will only eat Weetabix - so when she comes over at Xmas, I take one of my mum's boxes (cos she will only buy proper weetabix) and put OB wheat bisks in - usually Tesco's. She's never cottoned on.
(Nor has she found out that I buy el cheapo vodka and filter it and put it in the Smirnoff bottle I keep especially for her visits :rotfl:)0 -
Tell me more about this vodka filtering lark please.Barclaycard - £489.74 / £500.00

I found it on this site but basically, you put cheapy vodka throught your water filter a few times (I do about 5-7 ) and it takes out lots of the impurities. You really can smell/taste the difference. Run a couple of jugs of water through the filter again and it's ready to make your tea with once more.0

Totally agree that Asda weetabix are the same as normal ones - no one in my house has noticed that I've swapped 'cus I keep filling up the old box!
I also do the same with porridge - I buy the value oats and keep the Scotts box topped up. Come to think about it, I do this with squash too - buy the value stuff and decant it into the Robinson's bottle. I keep putting value dishwasher tablets into the Finnish box too.
I'm worried about how good I am at being deceptive....:rotfl:0 -
I find there's a difference in the texture. Real Weetabox are finer than shops own brand but then I'm really fussy!!1 John 4: 7 & 80
