Do you know if Weetabix....

....makes cereals for anyone else?

Or is it worth buying the real McCoy brand against supermarket own versions?

I don't know if they make them for anyone else, but I buy either Tesco own brand or Morrisons own brand (not the value ones) and they taste just as good to me.

I have bought Tesco value ones in the past and haven't liked them (they don't look like Weetabix, they're more square shaped), but the own brand ones are absolutely fine.

Saying that, I've bought Asda Smartprice ones and they tasted like the Tesco/Morrisons own brand ones and not at all like the Tesco Value ones.

If you look at the vitamin and carb/fat/protein lists on weetabix and supermarket own-brand, and the percentages are the same per 100g (the biscuits may be slightly different sizes), then it is quite possible they originate in the same factory.

I get own-brand and haven't perceived any difference, unlike things like cornflakes where the own-brand do often taste a bit different to Kellogs.

Same here. I dont think supermarket own brand weetabix (or wheat biscuits) taste any different to Weetabix. Pretty sure they're made in the same place

I buy Tesco's own, they're fine. Don't get the Lidl ones though, they are truly nasty :(

On the shop & dont drop board in the "great own brand hunt" someone saw a crashed weetabix van with the yellow weetabix logo on the side and all the packets were out of the back all over the road and there were pretty much all supermarkets boxes & the driver sadi to them " we make them fdor everyone" Worth a browse to see if Ive remembered it right :)

  • Buy some own brand and put them in the Weetabix pack and see if he notices!
