What use is your copy (with their signature) to them? The LL will never need to prove their own signature! I presume that they have lost their copy with your signature in which case I can not see how copying your copy will help.
Tell them that you will not return your copy under any circumstances. How else will you prove the LL's agreement to the terms of your tenancy?! They sound like either complete plonkers or complete shysters. I can not imagine why they are trying to take away your copy of a signed agreement.0 -
Were you asked to sign a copy at the start of the tenancy that you failed to return?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I sent back the originals of the scans 3 months ago, I heard nothing more from them so assumed everything was fine. They mention they've been promised copies on multiple occasions but that hasn't been from me as they've never contacted me until now.0 -
            As FireFox asks.
If you failed to return a copy, then perhaps it was cheeky to ask for a signing fee. :rotfl:
But if they have the photocopy, that should suffice. I am surprised that they sent through a copy for you to initial rather than just asking for the signed original.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I'm sorry but I still don't understand what is going on here - maybe I am having a dense moment. Why would a T have the only copy of the tenancy agreement with their signature on it? Or are we dealing with an utterly incompetant letting agent that failed to take their copy when the tenancy agreement was signed?0

As far as I was aware they had received it
. So I won't get into any trouble if I don't send another one if they have scans anyway?
They've forwarded my email onto all the guarantors too, didn't think that was allowed!0 -

We have a copy WITH their signature on it.0 -
We will not be paying any sum for an ‘administration fee’ for this purpose; we are simply requesting a follow through of an agreement made before the tenancy began.

Ask to see this 'agreement' from before the tenancy started that has your signature on it. As someone else said though, don't let your copy of the agreement out of sight. Protect yourself before protecting them... as you sent them a copy back, you shouldn't need to do it again. The fact they've got a photocopy of the signed agreement and not the original is pretty suggestive that they received it

Then I would ask them £25 admin for another copy or £40 to check and initial. As far as I was aware they had received it

Out of order. There is not anyone to allow it, but they are out of order. They've forwarded my email onto all the guarantors too, didn't think that was allowed!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. The copy with THEIR signature is YOUR copy. Do NOT let it out of your hands.
What they need is a copy (sorry, original) with YOUR signiture.
1) Do you have this?
2) Did you ever have this?
3) Were you asked to send it back to them 3 months ago? (as their email states). (though why a LA would allow a tenant to move in without having obtained a signed agreement is beyond belief)(and how did they get a copy of it...did they get you to sign it, then photocopy it, then give it back to you?!!!)
4) Did you send it back to them ?(as your post states).
If 4) is 'yes', then tell them so and give them the date sent. As you no longer have it then you cannot re-send it.
Whether you choose to re-sign a new one is up to you. but
a) as warned, make sure you are signing the same wording!
b) if you refuse, you will be fostering bad relations. Do you plan to stay? Do you want to alienate them? What if you need repairs in the future? Or to renew the tenancy?
Good relations between tanants/agents/landlords are in everyone's best interests....unless you are bailing out! And even then there's deposit return to negotiate/agree....0
