The kids have a nasty habit of switching the pc on in the morning and leaving it on all day while they're at school college  so I imagine there is a good chance it might be overheating. I think that it makes this bleep noise while its in sleep mode. And it has to be said I've not cleaned the dust out of the inside of it since we bought it. Are you supposed to do that on a regular basis? I dust the top and sides of it but don't give a thought to the insides :o

Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning

best thing to do is buy can of compressed air and spray the comp. do it out side or so so it doesn't go everywhere if its really dusty.

You wont get beeps for ram, etc while pc is turned on all and laoded to the OS all that will happen is the blue screen "death" will appear and just hang there displaying whats caused it.

It's more likely to be some sorta peripheral such as a keyboard making the keepin noise. try another one if possible.

I doubt it would be overheating; you would expect it to overheat whilst in use not when idle, and there would also be other symptoms. At just 10 months old there shouldn't be too much dust in there either.

I think you are right about it beeping when in sleep mode. There's some software or setting that's making the system speaker go beep when left for a long time. Unless it's a problem or it starts happening when the system is in use, I would not even bother to do anything about it.

Your kids leaving the computer on whilst they are at school should not cause it to overheat. Computers can be left on 24/7/365 and never overheat provided they don't have a problem.

My old computer (Which I still have) used to bleep when it was 'getting hot'. I ended up just turning it off in the bios as thats how it was
But I would certainly clean the innards out if its never been done before

I still doubt it very much; why would it overheat when idle but not when in use? And no other symptoms to suggest overheating? Its possible but I think its very unlikely.

To check if it was overheating, if that's what you want to do, I'd download OCCT ( http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/index.php?Download ) which is a stress tester. It will make the machine do a lot of work and make the CPU run hot. Before starting the CPU stress test, come back here and type your CPU Name as displayed in the OCCT program and we'll tell you the max safe temperatures for your CPU. Then you can just keep an eye on the temperatures (it has CPU temp monitoring) and stop the test if the temps are getting high or if the system starts beeping, which it WILL do, if the beeping really is being triggered by overheating. Obviously don't let the system go to sleep during the test, keep moving the mouse.

I think I might have found the cause of the bleep.

I am currently scanning the pc with Avira Antivir and its detected a couple of things and as it detected them it made the bleep noise.
