as a postwoman, I thought it was best to answer the original query rather than go on a rant or rave about falsely accusing people of theft.

Whilst rare, there is the odd rogue postperson around, thus if you have any concerns about things going missing, best place to start is with your local delivery office. If they can't help, customer services.

Thanks to all the helpful replies, who would have thought such a simple question would illicit such immature responses?

Have got the number of the SO, so will check with them. As an aside I checked with my neibours this morning and they've also had the same problems.

Gazebo, hope it's not snowing where you are, I feel so sorry for postmen and women out in this weather! Have a hot chocolate when you get in!

I'm probably going to die of shock if I ever read a thread that DOESN'T have a rude or sarky comment. Try and see the irony NeverInDebt, you're making out the OP to be a accusatory person and that's just what you're being.

Whilst I agree not all postmen are honest people, perhaps the new postie is the lazy sort who doesn't want to lug your parcels around? That's usually the case when I find my post isn't being delivered. Definitely speak to your sorting office if you haven't already, they might be there. If not you can certainly communicate your concerns to Royal Mail without claiming anything serious- or even better, try to catch your postman in the morning, as he might feel a bit guilty if he has to admit your parcels are all in his van still!

    Good luck with it.
  • Fuzzy, I'm quite active on other areas of this forum and it's always been fine for me. Shame really, I guess people take some things too personally but hey ho.

Anyway, I've tried to call the SO but calls won't go through so called the customer support line and they've made a note of the problems. They're going to have a word with the local office and see what the postie has to say about it, apparently there's been an issue with parcels being damaged as they've been left outside. Hope things get sorted. If it's not the postie then they've probably been leaving the parcels outside the door, and someone's been nicking them. I've actually noticed a few people in out street and loads in the area have all put signs up asking to postie not to leave parcels outside the front door without knocking etc so it might be that.

    Hope it gets sorted soon!
