Postman stealing our mail?

Hi all, sorry if this is in t he wrong place, but just after some advice.

For a few months now our regular postie hasn't been around and three or four replacement postmen have been delivering. I've been ordering a few bits and bobs off the net and out of the 7 items I've ordered, I've only recieved 2 which were both send SD.

I've checked with all the sellers if they posted the items and all can confirm and give tracking info etc. Obviously I know there has been a lot of stress on RM after the strikes, but we're now not even recieving mail. All we seem to get is obvious post like bills and junk mailouts despite family sending cards and letters.

Now I can't be sure it's the postmen at fault, but how do I go about making RM aware that it's a possibility?

Thanks

if you get in touch with your local delivery office and ask to speak to the manager, you can raise your concerns with them.

Alternatively you can call the customer service number and they'll pass on details of your complaint/concerns to your local delivery office - phone number is 08457 740 740 or via saynoto0870 - 01752 387112

    either way, they can help.

Its Christmas...........there is more mail in the system than just yours alone.
  • So you cant be certain its postmen, yet you accuse postmen of stealing your mail in the heading?

    Really, why bother?

As was said in my post, I was only looking to inform the RM in case others have had the same problems, thanks gazebo for your input, it was most helpful, I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Well it's a pretty damning topic isn't it? After all you aren't accusing one postie, but 3 or 4 of them.

Best check with your delivery office anyhoo, make sure there hasn't been some sort of problem in your area. Do you have a dog for example? Has someone moved out of your house recently? Your local delivery office should be your first port of call.

I'm not accusing any postmen actually, I clearly stated it was a possibilty. My title also clearly has a question mark, thus affirming the fact it's an uncertainty, not a definate.

I only asked for advice on how to contact Royal Mail about the issue, and that question has been answered. Will check with the dorting office, then call customer services

Incidentally, there's no dog, no bad neighbourhood, we've lived here for three years and have never had any problems with our previous postman. Since the temps arrived we've had missing parcels (which RM has proof of) letters and cards, as well as bills and statements.

Oh come on. Neverindebt, the OP was wondering if stealing was a possibility. Hence the '?' at the end of the thread title. It wasn't said as a certainty.

I'm sorry, but if I ordered half a dozen items, had only a couple were delivered that needed to be signed for, after previous good service and replacement postmen, I'd be wondering the same thing too. Posties are not immune from bad conduct.

Yes there can be other reasons, but for junk mail to get there, and not Christmas cards etc, it does seem suspicious so concerns should be raised.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

OP just make enquiries about it tomorrow morning, have you asked any of your neighbours if they have had anything go missing or not delivered

Why, do you know they're the postman?

I see the trolls are out early tonight.

    To the op.
    We had a similar problem.
Reported it to the local sorting office, and it stopped.
We couldn't get any follow up, the post office have an internal investigation, act on it, then clam up. But it was well worth doing.
