My eldest son bought fingerless gloves from Peacocks for less than a fiver...he also has hypermobility syndrome and has found them a godsend.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

*sighs* Wish I could wear woolly gloves. Hypermobile, but allergic to wool.

A friend of mine makes various clothing (mostly out of fleece). She can make stuff to order if you give her a little time, and has just started making mittens. I am sure she could make fingerless mittens?
There are any number of funky patterns/colours.

I have several versions of the hat with integral scarf for DS.

B&M have children's fingerless gloves in at 69p - they're actually a plain grey 'normal' pair of gloves with a pair of black fingerless gloves (with an embroidered spider web logo) over the top - my HMS boys like them as they're the really stretchy gloves and so they give a bit of physical support too (the elder one who can deal with fingers has the grey ones, while the younger has the fingerless ones).

I'm not near our store until Tuesday, but am happy to pick a couple of pairs up for you and pop them in the post if you don't have a branch nearby.

I would suggest buying some mitten clips so the mittens aren't lost. They are really good at attaching mittens/gloves to the cuffs of coats. You can get mitten clips from JoJoMamanBebe or some trendy ones and a bigger selection can be found at rainbowconnection.com (they are based in the USA so do not order many pairs as you might have to pay import duty if you order over a certain value (I think it's about £18 but you would need to check that). I ordered 4 pairs recently and that was fine. Delivery from the USA was really quick).
I have had quite a lot of people asking where the mitten clips came from as many people think they are such a good idea.

Probably a slightly expensive way of doing it, but:
I can't wear wool either. (Hands aren't too bad with it though) I have a pair of fleece gloves from Blacks. Have you looked there? I know their gloves are expensive; but are worth it.
