is it worth pre-ordering the new ps3 and selling it on ebay?
i am assuming demand will be very high but in true sony fashion they will not be able to cope with the high demand,
therefore people will be trying to get them for xmas so will pay over the odds.
any thoughts?

I suppose it depends on the retailer that you pre-order the PS3 with as for instance you only had to look at the mess up that Amazon made with the Xbox 360 when people that ordered it from the 1st day of pre-orders did got their xbox later than people that ordered and it was badly planned.
Good luck if you can get hold of one and sell it on ebay as there is always someone with too much money and will pay over the odds for the machine, I was thinking of purchasing two machines and selling one so that the one I sell goes towards the money for the one you keep.
I know alot of people don't agree with this sort of thing but we all need some extra cash and at the end of the day you are not forcing anyone to buy it off you and more fool them if they want to pay over the odds for something
I noticed someone on ebay a while ago trying to sell a PS3 for a BIN price of £1,500 which is totally over the top but someone with more money than sense will probably buy it even though it's not out and you stand just the same amount of getting one if you pre-order one0 -
i have to say personally i wont be touching the PS3 i think it is the ugliest console i have ever seen.
one thing i have noticed is the Nintendo Wii is not getting any hype yet if you read the reports and watch just what it can do i really think this will sell hughly, already on a pre order waiting list for it.

I've heard bad things about the PS3. It's going to be by far the most powerful console about but apparently the early release games do it absolutely no justice!

But in answer to your question there will inevitably be people prepared to pay over the odds! :rolleyes:0 -
hell yeah. Ill be buying a wii on the day of release.jonuk7 wrote:i have to say personally i wont be touching the PS3 i think it is the ugliest console i have ever seen.

I've got a 360 myself. Its been okish. Has a lot of good points, and at the same time a few bad ones.
Don't think I'll go for a PS3 though. The Wii definitely looks interesting. Not as powerful as the other two but it certainly brings a new tilt to gaming."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
if graphics were a big deal to me.. id just go with PC games.. but i was bored with games for a long while until the DS came out.. innovation is way more important than graphics nowadays.. it has very little effect on gameplay.wolfman wrote:I've got a 360 myself. It's not always as black and white as graphics vs innovation though. The 360 and even more so, PS3 are very powerful machines. This alone can help innovation as game makers can build bigger, better, more realistic games. Basically gives them more to play with.
I think Wii will certainly prove though that games don't have to have the latest graphics/physic engine etc... to be playable, basically due to it's controller. Potentially a case of not the games changing much, but actually the way in which the user plays them being the big difference.
Will be interesting to see how it all pans out."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
PS3 is also worth considering for the Blu-Ray aspect whilst the whole Blu-Ray -v- HD-DVD battle is ongoing. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
