Suggestion by tartantipster to report single posts

grumbler

'Spam' works for threads only, not for posts.
Reporting the abuse is less easy unfortunately and involves real people from the MSE team ultimately.

Thanks for that, grumbler. I had an idea that spam worked for individual posts, but maybe that was only for the first post in a thread (which obviously deletes the thread). And I can't check now, as I can't see the spam button any more!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

Hi jobbingmusician, Which button is the Spam one? Thanks.:)
EDIT: Just read other posts. Could you suggest to MSE to add a "Spam Post" button please?0 -

I don't honestly see that as a good idea. The authority for removing a post should rest with someone in a privileged responsible position ie the moderators. Can you imagine the mayhem if we could all remove posts at will
Reporting a post to the moderators, for them to decide if deletion is warranted, could be a better idea.
Unless - on reflection! - that was how your suggestion would work!0 -

The request was so we (MSE members) could report rogue posts/posters - so those with higher authority could delete them.:)0 -
What's wrong with
then?
I agree that it is less convenient than the 'Spam' button though.0 -

You can already report a post ... red triangle bottom left. Did it for the first time on Sunday as some terribly clever people have discovered (or found out about it on one of there them fora) that changing font colour mid-word allows extreme offense to bypass the swear filter.
Knew about the triangle mate=abuse.:)What's wrong withthen?

You said it. How about an (S) for Spam next to the triangle.:)0
