A dry, lonely Christmas

I was thinking about this, and had another idea....what about doing something creative? That way you'll have something to be happy about, and as a keepsake, for the Christmas you were independant and dry0

You must have saved so much money having given up the booze.
Eat the best high protein diet. Make this your new mission to eat tons of water filled veg and some but not too much, fruit.
Your skin will soon be plumped full of Vit filled moisture.
Age 20-30? Lymphatic drainage body massage and a facial.
Age 30-50? same as above, with the addition of an electrical face stimulation programme.
Go on, you can afford it now.
If you can, stay away from it for good. Haha, you will be one of the few looking great on Boxing Day.
I too will be alone until late on Boxing Day. who cares? It's not my Birthday and we loners can do a group hug.
Someone more organised than me should arrange it. No earlier than noon though as some of us are not as strong willed as skintbutsolvent.
Forgot to mention. Get 5000 iu's of Vit D3 per day. It will take three months to build but you won't regret it. Also due to drinking and smoking, your Vit C levels will be sorely depleted, so address that. (Smoking and drinking makes your bones like honeycomb) not a problem now but later.0 -
No 1 on the list is being proud of yourself and giving yourself a big pat on the back for being alcohol free for a month at that stage. Well done
I would add to the list getting out for a walk or some kind of similar exercise at some point during the day. It'll build an appetite and give you a bit of a glow and help you sleep.
Lots of luck!0 -
skintbutsolvent. Frankly I wouldn't give too much thought as to how and why?
I thought I was an addict to both smoking and drinking, then realised it was a habit. One went hand in hand with the other.
I wonder whether there will be a dedicated Christmas thread or free for all?
Come Boxing Day, all us loners will wonder what on Earth we worried about and how glad we didn't overspend.0 -
Skintbutsolvent - I don't really have anything to add but did want to say well done on being dry. I don't know your circumstances but I'm guessing that this is a real achievement and so it's something to be truly proud of, especially at this time of year.
I hope that, whatever you end up doing, you have a positive day. I'm sure there will be lots going on on these boards. I've been going through a rough patch today and have been simply blown away by the support of people here. Good luck.0 -
Mutter, your idea of a dedicated thread specifically for Christmas day is an exceptionally good one. How lovely to know that even if you're on your own, there will be friends around at a certain time in a certain place. Love this.0

You skintbutsolvent who inspired this, had better be there, or should it be here?0
