personel injury insurance.

hi im new and would like peoples advice on a matter.

i had an accident at work that left me seriously injured and unable to work,i was insured for personel injury but after filling out endless forms and sending medical certificates in i still havnt had word from the insurance company.

it has been 5 months now and things are gettting desperate,i cant get a straight answer from anybody.

could someone please tell me how long these things should take and what i should do to get my money

    Going to need more info.

    There are 2 types of insurance that might cover this. The first is Personal Accident Cover that pays a set amount each week and is intended to cover your lost wages. The employer is the policyholder, they get the payout and use it to cover the wages they are paying over and above SSP.

    The second is Employers Liability cover. This covers your employer's liability to you as an employee. You have to prove negligence on their part and the claims take 18-36 months to settle on average.

    Just realised - I've assumed you are an employee. Is this the case or are you self employed?
