Personally I would ask for a refund (obviously the caravan would need to be returned upon receipt of the money) and if he says no then start a charge back as goods not as described. Through paypal then you should stand a reasonable chance of getting your money back I would have hoped :)
I would try to mail him one last time before doing this though - you never know :)

interestingly, a google for the type of caravan I believe it to be brings up a lot of ebay auctions for 4/5 berth, and one or two websites for 4 berth!

does the toilet count as a horisontal berth ;-)

I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Personally I would just stop talking about the subject. Until the newbie comes back and explains the full story then we are all just wasting time speculating.

Are you sure there isnt a concealed bed somewhere? Sometimes the dining table converts into a bed or the sofa's at the front? I know that sounds silly but I used to have a caravan which I let out for holidays and nearly all the occupants didnt realise that the dining table converted into a bed. Just a thought.

If it were me I would do a chargeback on paypal for the item not being as described and/or not fit for the purpose. Hopefully you stand a good change of getting your money back. If not I would sell it back on ebay and you would stand a good chance of making your money back.
