Hi, I think this is my first post but I couldn't resist this thread. This is going to sound gross but please believe me that it works... If you can get kitty litter (yes, that's what I said!) that is made from pure clay and mix it with water to make a mud mask consistency this makes an awesome moisturising, detoxifying mask. About 1:1 ratio.

When I was at uni we used to get this all the time, about 3 quid for a big bag of kitty litter and all the girls would sit around with this on our legs, arms etc etc. I've always wanted to try wrapping up in clingfilm with it on too but never managed to take it that far.

Recently I discovered that it's also AMAZING on your skin (if you can get over the 'ick' factor), especially for those with large pores and oily skin -this will make those pores microscopic. You can mix it with just water or half and half water and cider vinegar.

Trust me this is awesome and really really works. However, you must be careful of two things - 1. Must be PURE clay litter, nothing else added, and 2. NO perfumes or anything in the litter (although you could add a few drops of your fave essential oils if you like, I'm reliving the uni days at the moment with a touch of patchouli).

    Enjoy, Cherise

Nothing gross about it - as long as it hasn't been used by kitty :rotfl::eek::rotfl:

Vitamin E capsule's apply 1 on your face as an overnight treatment, lovely soft & plump skin the next morning.

Well I have just tried this and its a great tip. Lostinrates recommended Vit E caps for dry flaky lips. I cut a capsule open, put some on my lips but had loads left so I applied some to under my eyes, and then finished the rest off at the back of my hands (very dry at the moment). At first I thought it was horrid and sticky, like putting lipgloss on your face and hands, but after about 20 minutes it had sunk in, leaving everything plump and smooth. Brilliant.

I bought 30 caps for £3.49 from Boots so enough for each evening per month, as a night treatment. I think it would be a great barrier treatment for the bitter cold winds we are having.

  • Almond oil works as eye makeup remover

    Rose water as a toner
  • Coconut milk is another magic potion for your hair. Take a dry coconut and grate it. Grind to a fine paste and then sieve through a soft fine cloth to collect the milk of the coconut. Make around 1-2 cups of milk depending on the length of your hair. Apply the milk on the scalp and hair and leave to dry. Keep it for about 2 hrs and then rinse your hair with normal water (do not apply shampoo). This will leave the pure coconut oil in your hair. Keep the oil for 24 hours and shampoo the following day. This process will make your hair softer and smoother to touch and you will see an almost immediate drastic reduction in your rate of hair loss. For chronic cases of hair loss, do this once a week. Eventually once the problem is resolved completely, you can do this once in 2 or 3 weeks. It helps not only in reducing hair fall but also improves the overall health and texture of hair.
