We went to see Rob Brydon last week (fantastic show) and there was a kerfuffle at the start of the show when people arrived and found somebody else sat in their seats.
They moved eventually but despite the venue being less than 6 months old and having very good signage on the seats and rows, they were claiming they thought they were their seats!
They then disrupted everybody in their proper row as they had to get them all to stand up to let them in.
In contrast we went to see Russell Howard and queued for returns. There weren't any but in the interval after the support we were allowed to sit in empty seats on the understanding that we would move if the people who had bought the seats turned up. They didn't and we watched the show for nothing.
Yes, but they should wait until the first interval to make sure the rightful people don't arrive late & then disrupt everyone else by having to move. this is 'standard procedure' for Matinees!
There coud be people who bought them and have been delayed.
It's just not worth the embarrassment and upheaval should they turn up after they had moved into them.
Stay put and be grateful for getting to see the show super cheap.
