Play.com price drop?

£2 is still almost 10%. If you bought a brand new car, and found out that it was near 10% cheaper the day after, you wouldn't be very happy would you?
Amazon do have the policy, or at least did a few weeks ago when call of duty MW2 dropped in price after pre order, and amazon refunded £10 to everyone.0 -

Yeah, Amazon will still refund on pre-order prices but not normal prices.OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090

I wouldn't be happy but then I don't know that there's anything the retailer is obliged to do.
I suspect you'd have more joy going back to a car dealer where 10% difference would be hundreds or even thousands of pounds than trying to get £2 otu of play though. It's my problem, it's my problem

Email Play.com and ask them if they have a policy in place.
I wouldn't waste much more of your time by doing anything more than that..0 -
Of course the OP hasn't mentioned how much they saved by buying from Play than anywhere else.0

I would assume being an avid MSE user then Play.com would have been the cheapest at the time.
I don't think it is fair to label Play.com as a 'I won't shop there again' kind of place. The price at 23:59 one day could be different at 00:00 the next. You don't notice this practice in normal shops as they tend to close from 18:00 to 09:00 the next day and unless you walk past would be none the wiser.
No retailer has to offer any kind of part refund due to price drops. Several do have price promises as such but they are just enhancing your rights not reducing them. Distance selling rules are the only extra right you have to return for a refund, a store in front of you gives you no legal rights to do so.
As I said before ask Play if they will refund the £2, if not no point going any further. They may well be cheaper for other goods you want in the future but would you pay £2 more somewhere else to hold up the not buy again principle.
I would however like to point out that calling people fools, you know who I mean, or anything like that on the forum isn't really sporting. The later post was more informative and fitting with the environment.New PV club member. 3.99kW system. Solar Edge with 14 x 285W JA Solar panels. 55° West from south and 35° pitch.0 -

Thank you for your constructive reply.
Of course I was only asking if anybody knew of play.com's policy, not about my legal rights. I was a little peeved when it happened and have since heard about Amazon doing something similar so was curious if I could ask Play to be "nice"!
I appreciate everyone who has offered useful comments to my query and to those who can only look down on others I hope you have a nice christmas:D

In fairness Blue Fox, that's not quite all you were doing. My post was in response to your consideration of boycotting Play.com :Of course I was only asking if anybody knew of play.com's policyI think I'll be spending my hard earned elsewhere from now on!
You pointed out that this was a moneysaving site. We normally commend outlets for dropping prices. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.
