I was never too bad with going daft with money, I can honestly say it was all the Ex's spending. I bought a lovely £1k lappy for myself and then the STB Ex destroyed it a month later with a sword cos I was 10 minutes late from a night out with friends. I spent a lot of money bailing out his startup business when he was basically too lazy/depressed to actually sell anything. With the 10k loan that was supposed to be for a house deposit (the house fell through) he bought a car and I paid for the insurance up front total of £2.5k. He then crashed it into a ditch when he walked out, and left it there, cos it seems the money he got from both me and his gran for the tax had gone elsewhere and it wasn't taxed. It has since been crushed, and I wasn't able to get the insurance money back because it was all in his name.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
