That should surely show all unionised members exactly what the Union thinks of them, surely?
Can't say I'm surprised though.
The members have voted, 9-1 to strike, the Union now want that action to have the maximum impact, unfortunately, striking at Christmas will have more effect than striking on a wedneday afternoon in January.0 -
more effect on who?
The paying public, the staff, or British Airways?0 -

Good old UNITE I say - for far too long, since Thatcher was in, the workers have been played and played, with their rights eroded at every turn, resulting in whole communities blighted.
If the workforce have voted 9 to 1 in favour of industrial action, it shows the strength of feeling amongst the workforce.
Note to all the moaners above - has anyone actually had their flight cancelled yet ?
Noooooooo
More muscle to the workforce and hope it drags the management back to the table to NEGOTIATE an agreement with the Union, rather than FORCING one on them :T0 -
Good old UNITE?
What's good about the part that this strike will almost certainly force BA into a merger with another airline, or even worse, bankruptcy and restructuring (bye bye perks, nice conditions and high wages)?
I mean, to see Britain's flag carrier and such a well respected name being dragged into the ground because greedy staff want more and more (even though they get more than most others!) is sad. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

I have to agree. What sort of twit wishes for 'muscle' for the workforce then complains about a management that uses similar tactics?0
