Child Tax Credits HELP Please!

They are not exactly the same!
Last year you were getting Income support for 6 months and maternity pay for 6 months.
The tax credits award you have now is based on the income you had that year. Not what you are on now.
They are the same!!!
Her youngest child is 3 months older than my youngest child!
She too received maternity pay for 6 months and Income Support for 6 months and stayed on Income Support like me!
Plus from my award letter I am supposed to be receiving the same amount as her! Except I realised that I get less in my account now. So like others have said I have either received another payment at some point earlier in the year which has reduced my payments or I receive reduced payments now and will get more later on towards the end of the financial year.
Just going to call them again now to find out and this time demand to speak to someone more helpful!0 -
Morning, Shy,
If your award total works out as £96/wk then that is what you will be getting HOWEVER you WILL have had some sort of one off pymt as the total Award amount is paid throughout the year. Even if you have never made a change this tax year, sometimes when renewals are completed a one off pymt is issued so if you look back at bank statements from April you will find at least one extra pymt, if you get paid weekly you will have had 2 pymts in one week or if you get paid 4 weekly then you would have got 2 pymts within 4 weeks - this would be the only explanation IF your total award for the year has not changed.
You may also find that from April next year your pymts would increase to around £96/wk.
ETA as you receive IS your previous year's income is not used to calculate your award - you receive the maximum entitlement whilst on IS.0
