Just so I'm reading this correctly you are saying that your award letter states you should be getting £96 per week (same as your friend) but you are only getting £81 per week in your bank account since April and you have only just noticed this because you wrote a letter for your friendFrom my award lette,r I should get the same amount as my friend but what goes into my account is a different story. So I will call them tomorrow and say I have my award letter and I am not receiving what it says I should be.
*SIGH*

Firstly, I wrote a letter for my friend as she had a debt and I had to write out her income and I noticed she got £96 per week child tax credits and realised I received less. So today I checked the online tax credits calculator to check if what I was receiving was correct, as I do not know the maximum amount that a person can receive so how was I to know I was receiving less than what another person in the same circumstances as me receives?
Secondly, as an above poster told me to check my award letter, I did and I noticed the letter states what I get a year. It doesn't say the exact amount I will receive each week. I then looked at it today and worked it out to be around £96 a week.
Lastly, I double checked on my bank statement today online and confirmed I have been receiving £81 per week. However, I do not know how long I have been receiving this amount as if I am honest I don't really take much notice. I don't religiously check to see how much I get paid every week.0 -
Your tax credit award will tell you what you get weekly.*SIGH*

You need to go back through all your statements from April - as said it may have been that they paid you too much at the start and it needs to be £81 per week now to get you to the £5022.20 total for the end of the year. You need to add up exactly what have been paid to date and if incorrect and you need to contact them then you can discuss that it does not match your award letter (forget what your friend gets you will just get told that it is not relevant)...if it is indeed short you need to confirm there have been no change of circumstances so why do the payments not match the award letter0

It will tell you on the last page how much you will be paid each week.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0

It does not state what I will get weekly, it says what I get every 4 weeks on the last page. Hence why I said I have worked it out to be around £96 per week.
However, I will take Caz3121's advice and look through my bank statements to see if I have received more at any time which is why I have been receiving lower payments than what it states now. That is the only reasonable explanation as to why I would receive less now as I suppose what matters is that I get the full annual amount at the end, regardless of what I receive at any one time. If I find that all my payments have been the same throughout, I will call them again and explain the information I have further. Perhaps I will get more towards the end to make up for it.
Thank you Caz! x0 -
When reading your awards on the back page, check the dates as they will differ esp if you have made any changes in the last year.
You state that you were on mat pay then went onto income support. You had a change of salary so your total income for the year could have been more than what you friend is receiving. When you made the changes to IS & notified them, they would have made the admendments.
Were you working full time when you went on MAt leave? As that is a loss straight away - the 30hrs element of the WTC - even if you didn't get WTC. THey have just removed this on mine as my OH is out of work & I'm caring for DS.BSC 289A life lived in fear is a life not living!Proud to have dealt with my debts.0 -
They are not exactly the same!If my friends circumstances are the exact same as mine, I do not see why we would not be entitled to the same amount. Like I said previously, the only difference was that her children are slightly older than mine.
Last year you were getting Income support for 6 months and maternity pay for 6 months.
The tax credits award you have now is based on the income you had that year. Not what you are on now.*SIGH*

if i was u i would call them again as u seem 2 have got thru 2 an un-helpful person!!!! hopefully this will be able to sort it0

am guessing at some point you got a one off payment, this then reduces the amount you get in the following payments tho, the overall amount for the yr remains the same. YOu need to check your award notice it was say we will pay you £xx on xx date and then we will pay you £xx on xx date and fourweekly thereafter.
Or go thru all bank statements since april 09, as you may see the one of payment in one of them0
