Help! Parking control fine before Christmas!

Hi - First post but need some advice on a parking ticket which I don't really need before Christmas!
I live in a block of flats with a residential parking and visitor bays. The car park is currently policed by a company called parking control. As I had family staying over they parked in my allocated resident's bay and I parked in my visitor bay. Unfortunately my visitor pass slipped from the dash onto the floor and I now have a £75 fine.
I have spoken to my concierge who have said there is nothing she can do and I need to speak to the parking company. I have tried speaking to them (on their premium rate phone line!) and they have said I need to send payment and my appeal in a letter and if I am successful they will issue a refund. If I do not pay within 7 days the fine will increase by £50 continuously.
I need advice as I am technically in the wrong as my visitor pass was not clearly shown (they have photo evidence) but as I am a resident and have been for several years I am loathed to pay the fine. Any advice or do I just have to pay up?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Read up on all the other posts regarding just this scenario and they will all say IGNORE them. I say read up just so you can see you are not alone and that others have had the same problem and successfully ignored them.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I assume this a private parking company? if it is, then you do not have to pay anything and it's not a "fine". For reassurance please read other threads on this forum.
Do not contact the parking company again and ignore any communications from them. You have not broken any laws and it is illegal fro a private parking company to make demands such as this. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Thank you for the replies. Will take your advice and do nothing. Just worried as my permit wasn't displayed and slightly nervous of the admin fees of £50 if I don't pay within seven days. Eeek!0

Do not pay. Just ignore everything to do [or from] with any private parking company. Don't appeal, write, call or engage in any way whatsoever. Above all read the rest of the threads on here that ask the exact same question and get [amazingly] the exact same advice; and yes..... I am shouting!!!!

The main problem with the BFG type of post, whilst well meaning,is that people get bored with them very easily and may well miss useful information posted previously.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

IMO it's so difficult to read, it's not helpful at all.0

You're right. If I was looking for advice I too wouldn't read a post because it had too many words in it.
BTW which bit is difficult to read??0 -

When you copy and paste something over and over again like that it becomes just like spam. No one will read it, it's quite aggressive and it's unhelpful.0 -
BFG, although I understand your frustration with Newbies, I don't really see what you're trying to acheive by multiple cut and paste posts all.over the forum. I thought the idea of this forum was to help and advise, whereas your posts, although correct, merely come over as angry rants. The most likely outcome is to deter newbies unused to forums from posting at all.
Other experienced users manage to politely answer the same questions over and over again without venting their frustration and if you can't I suggest you leave it to them0
