Does anyone know a good place to send precious vhs so they can be put onto dvd? I don't want to do it myself.

There are a variety of machines available that will convert vhs to dvd via the laptop. I've recently seen another that will convert tapes to dvd also, all via a usb. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Unfortunately most of these gadgets are rubbish.
The best bet is probably to get a stand alone DVD recorder and use that.
Cheaper than using a copying service. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Connect a Scart lead from your VCR TV socket on the back and
Connect it to a Scart input on your DVD recorder
Connect a Scart lead from your DVD TV out socket to your TV
Select the correct source input on your DVD recorder and all should be well

I have tried to do this but we also have a sky box. Does this need to involved in the plug in?0 -
No, but you may want to disconnect it to simplify your hook up.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

He did a good job and copied the VHS onto Taiyo Yuden DVD's, the best you can get, which bodes well for longevity.
Obviously if there are any flaws in the VHS copy, due to wear, they will be copied across to DVD, but that is to be expected.
Once you have got the DVD's back you can make as many backup copies of them as you like using ImgBurn or Nero.0 -
Do i need the aerial to be plugged into the video? Sorry to sound stupid but I'm a novice at this.0
