I agree with what has already been said - bundles do seem to go better. I am always after new kids clothes (3 kids under 4) and have given up with ebay. My local charity shops have always got good quality clothes that fit the kids in the 20p bin!!! Actually came out of there today with 2 bags full for £1.80! Mostly next and George items. One of these next t-shirts on ebay would be £1.80 for postage!!! I did buy a bundle of 30 for my little girl but only becasue including postage each item was 30p. The seller wrote a note for me saying ' I was tempted not to complete the transaction - you have a bargain, I want to cry!'

It is odd that having been following this thread the auction I went to today had brand new baby clothes from a closed baby shop. I thought the clothes were fairly average, nothing really special and didn't imagine they would sell well at all. Yet they were sold in batches of six outfits (either little jumper and leggings or tops and trousers or romper suits with hats) and batches of six were fetching £25 which would be approx £29 after buyers premium.

So it seems baby clothes do sell, but not on ebay. :(

Such a shame as I still have the last few bits I bought in a flurry of excitement from a shop that was closing down and never managed to sell, I did get rid of a few at a car boot sale but then then they went for less than cost.

I have a huge amount of brand new baby stuff that my lads never got round to wearing, my OH went mad buying stuff when he was in USA on business.

Anyway, I was looking into selling it on Ebay and having closely watched what sells and what doesn't, it seems the best way is to sell it is as a bundle and have it as a featured auction starting at 99p.

This is all well and good if you're sure you'll get your outlay back, up until now I haven't had the courage to risk it.

I will probably end up trailing it round any boot sales I may do this summer.

    Hope this is of help.

I have used ebay to buy and sell loads of my girls stuff but would say that smaller sizes 0-3 months/3-6 moths you won't get much for it. It's only when you get into the bigger sizes people will pay more  I sold a few bundles of stuff last year for ok prices but not a huge amount.

  • agree with the above, people will not pay much for babay clothes as realisticly they are only in the 2 minuets where as say age 2-3 3-4 you know they will get decent wear out of them so worth a bit more investment
bundles the way to go or in your local free add paper

You could try posting it on the 'for sale' board at https://www.mumsnet.com/talk

I have sold the few things I could bear to part with on there at very reasonable prices.

The rest I have stashed away, or given via freecycle

When I was searching for baby clothes on Ebay for my son I was shocked at the number of sellers selling a bundle of clothes literally scrunched up in the middle of a floor!
Take the extra time to iron them and display them nicely for the photos it makes a LOT of difference!

As the above poster has said good pictures make a lot of difference. When selling bundles last year I signed up to a site that you can do you own lsitings on(if I can find the web address I will post it) they are the ones people use to make fancy looking listings. But for about £4 you get a months worth of use. I found that selling bundles you need to take many pictures and this would cost you loads doing it the normal way on ebay, but using these templates you can put as many pictures on you want. My be worth a try if you are going to try and sell them in bundles.
