I'm tackling my debts in 2010

Well done on husband being accepted for his new account, but "finger wagging" please don't allow this to become OVERDRAFT NO 3 in you signature. I'm positive you won't but I will be watching
No this is the mistake we have made far too many times, at one point we only had one credit card and then we did a balance transfer and still used the old one and then did another balance transfer and so had loads of cards on the go at any one time:mad:.
The alliance and leicester cashback only gets paid if use their switching service so they move everything from your old account (direct debits and wages etc) and then you can shut that account down, which overdraft permitting my husband is planning on doing.
Thankyou for keeping me on the straight and narrow though radish its good to know you care
You lucky thing getting the time to watch tennis I have been at work all day, district nursing and snow are not a good combination :mad:

My son came home with a sponsorship form a couple of weeks ago for some football related activity, its due back tomorrow  and to be honest I'm really annoyed, the more sponsorship money you get the higher the prize that you recieve (footballs and trading cards etc) so now I feel really pressured into adding sponsorship money up to the minimum prize of £15 because my son is so excited, the thing is the school only keep half of the money anyway and the company that are running the event get the rest. Now I am all for supporting the school with fayres etc but I would prefer to give the school £7.50 buy my son a treat (he already has loads of footballs) and then save some money :mad::mad:.
Right rant over, hope everyone is ok in MSE land

That sucks! And why does a company have to run the event? Things have evidently changed since I was at school (now I feel old!). I hope you don't get pressured into contribiting more than you can afford. xPlease call me 'Pickle'

God save dad's - mine phoned this evening to say that he was free to babysit tomorrow night and would give me his orange wednesday code so that I could go and see Avatar with the OH :j it will be the first time that my dad has babysat so I am really chuffed, especially because I hadn't even asked, and to give us the voucher so we only pay for one is even better, I'll go and get some goodies to eat whilst we are there and it will be a really cheap night.
Have had an unexpected NSD today, I was intent on taking my daughter to a playcentre however when I asked her she said she wanted to stay at home and play with playdough, she obviously does not have the same expensive tastes in entertainment as me, if I was ever asked what I wanted to do I would always choose the most expensive option - how times change.
Tomorrow I will pay the penultimate installment of nursery fees before my daughter gets her free place which will mean another £100 pounds a month for CC debt.:D
Just waiting for my internet shop to arrive shoudn't be too long now.

New Santander Zero statement came through today and the rats had put a charge on it for £90 for the balance transfer fee when it was supposed to be free, a quick phonecall got it refunded but thats not the point they definately try it on
Avatar was brilliant last night the 3d showing had sold out so had to see it in 2d but it was still brilliant and actually saved us £2 so can't be sniffed at, spent about £2.50 on food and £1.50 on card parking so all in all not a bad night for a tenner - I would really recommend it.
Tesco delivery did not come the other day - at 10pm I phoned to see where it was only to be told that it wasn't coming and I had to go and collect it -I was not impressed and have sent a stinky e-mail to them to complain, secretly I'm hoping that I get another £10 in vouchers even if its off another internet shop I wouldn't mind but as of yet no reply.
I did buy a pressie for my son for his birthday it was £14 for a game for the ps3, I am still looking frantically on ebay for a bike for my daughter I want one that is nearby nad very cheap whilst still looking like a pretty new bike, but I only have about three weeks left so will need to get one soon.

Haven't been on for a few days because the laptop is giving up the ghost, i mentioned a while ago that the screen was broken after one of the children trod on it - well this has gotten lots worse and now there are cracks running right across the middle of the screen, we could just about put up with this but now the charger is not working. We have phoned around and the cost will be £120 for a new screen and £20 for a new charger a grand total of £140, I'm really unsure what to do as I could buy a new one for around £250-300.
On a good news front tesco have given us £10 as apology for their poor service, we will save this until next month.
Hubby has (after much nagging) started to demolish the hideous 1970's fireplace in the living room, he has had to stop now because the fire needs to be disconnected - the minimum charge for the gas man is £40  however we have been in the house for 4 years in march and I am just so chuffed that it is finally going :j

I am being weaned of the MSE site due to my computer not working.
Quick update, fire has been disconnected which was £45, OH has not managed to do any more of the demolishing though because he has been at work I am at work now until next wednesday which will mean that he has the children and can therefore not do any demolishing, we are now left with a huge mess but I am not too fussed if he could do a little bit sunday afternoon I would be really chuffed.
I've not been as good with money this month as last month but its just not sustainable to keep that up for any length of time, for example last weekend took one child to a birthday party at wacky warehouse and therefore had to pay for the other child to get in and for their lunch (although if I'd been more organised then I'd have taken a packed lunch and saved money).
February's goals
Extra shifts - I'm booked to do three extra so only need to book on to do 1 more to meet the target.
Dooyoo reviews - I've done none yet, I'm going to try and do a couple over this weekend.
Ebay - Again put nothing on, I could really do with putting some stuff together which I could put on and then have an evening set aside to do it, maybe tuesday when OH is at kickboxing.
In bad news my hair is desperate and I really need to get it done before we go to center parcs at the beginning of next month - I'm afraid I am unwilling to dye it myself I might end up looking like a golden retriever which would not look good, I am going to have to bite the bullet and get it done at the usual hairdressers which will cost between £75-90.
I am still trying to find a bike for my daughters birthday on ebay, I am going to leave it until the beginning of March and if I still haven't found one close enough and nice enough then I am going to have to buy one new
Childrens birthday party is booked for middle of March I've invited about 22 children at £6 a head, but have saved money on last year because I have decided to not have an exclusive party this has saved me about £30 but the party will still cost me another £100 at least out of next months budget, in some ways we are lucky because they can have a joint party cause their birthdays are so close - a day apart. My poor son is having my husbands old lego which my mother-in-law has still got up the loft so that is a nice free present, and if I can get a bike off ebay then the grand total for all presents should be about £30 so spending so much on the party won't be too bad.
The slow cooker is brilliant up to yet I've made lots of different soups which everyone loves and a nice northern lobby although that wasn't as successful as I used a bouquet garni ( a herb bag) unfortunately I didn't tell my husband and he served it up for everyone (before I got home from work) - we never found the herb bag so somebody must have ingested it :rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Emmie! Sorry I've been so quiet lately (busybusybusy) but uf you have some time during the day in the week could you get your hair dyed at a local college salon? I had mine cut (pretty good as well) for £3 last time, and the same place dyes for about £10-15.
Don't know whether or not your would be able to make it with your work, but I thought I would mention it anyway. xPlease call me 'Pickle'
