    sorry for being melodramatic

No need to apologies as always better to have a rant here and get things off your chest then go out and have a huge spending spree or in my case eat about 20 packets of crisp

On Monday you will ring then up and get them to sort out their mistake, if you can try and get them to put the money they owe you into your account

If you have already excepted that you wont get the money till after your holiday and you do get it before, then put 50% towards your debt then 50% towards treats whilst on holiday. This way you have a win/win situation

Nothing wrong with being hormonal, I usually save that special time each month to sort out all the things that bug me - hence rowing with the gas people a few months back :rotfl:

    February's Summary

    Budget

    Shopping £200 - spent £215
    Petrol £80 - spent £142

Shopping budget has crept up a bit I think because we have had a few treats, I will do better next month.
Petrol budget still over but this is the first month with two cars and we have only spent £10 more than last month, I'm hoping that this will reduce further as the car is brand new and so fuel efficiency will increase when it has been driven in a bit. At the end of next month we are adjusting the budget cause we will see what we have spent over a 3 month period the petrol budget is definately going to have to go up.

    Overtime

    18 hours

    Debt repayments

    Overdraft 1 - [STRIKE]£685[/STRIKE] £630
    Overdraft 2 - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £650
    Barclaycard 1 - [STRIKE]£3,226[/STRIKE] £3,000
    Barclaycard 2 - [STRIKE]£2,151[/STRIKE] £1,582
    Car loan - [STRIKE]£1,162[/STRIKE] £1,024
    Halifax [STRIKE]£3,670[/STRIKE] £3,645

    Total £10,533
Debt reduced by £1,060 this month:T

Debt reduced by £2,117 this year
Absolutely chuffed with this cause I thought this month would be tight with having no overtime money, all I keep thinking is next year when we are debt free we could be saving this sort of money for a holiday and new windows, we could have both in the same year.
I really have done rubbish with all the added extras this month I've done 18 hours overtime but would have liked 24, just not enough shifts that didn't clash with my usual job.
Have done no ebay or dooyoo, I'll try next month but its not really a priority.
All in all though a good month have managed to meet the £1000 target and thats the main thing :)

Wow emmie: that's SERIOUSLY mpressive stuff. Well done!

And to think, that's a month where you don't have a lot of overtime money compared to what you would have liked). Marvellous!

Here's to another debt-busting March. Let's see how much you debt you can slay this month! :)

Well got to the bottom of the lack of wages, work paid me as usual and the taxman took the lot, 100% phoned up the inland revenue to be told 'that was a mistake we shouldn't have done that we can only apologise' and literally that is all they did do I can't get the money back until I'm issued my p60's from both jobs and then they will work out how much I have overpaid so I won't see that money for a couple of months. I know this sounds really prejudiced but all I kept thinking was if I didn't work I would be getting benefits for doing absolutely nothing but I go out and get a second job and the taxman takes the lot every single penny, it is just not fair. I promise not to mention it again (for a while anyway).

In other emmie related news OH's 0% credit deal ends soon on one of his credit cards and he has been offered 0% on balance transfers til june 2011 to one of his existing cards the problem with this is that he already has £1,500 on this card on which he is paying interest so obviously we need to pay this off quickly before we transfer the balance otherwise any repayments will only pay off the 0% bit of his balance and we'll be paying loads of interest so we have decided to pay off the £1500 with £500 which was for credit card repayments anyway and the other £1000 from my overdraft which has a limit of £1700 anything over £1000 being at 0%, we then need to contact the credit card company check his balance is £0 and the transfer the balance of his other credit card and my overdraft. Sounds a bit complicated just hope all goes to plan we are both a bit nervous about all the moving around and it will take me to the limit of my overdraft which I will have to keep a close eye on.

Don't think we are going to be able to reach the £1000 target this month with the holiday, childrens birthdays and no extra wages but as long as we don't add to our debt I will be happy, this time last year we spent an absolute fortune on the plastic so anything will be an improvement.

That all sounds good, Emmie: well done! :T I like the sneaky CC tactics. :D

In other Pickle-related news, I was accepted for the A&L account :j, and I got an e-mail saying as much, but nothing mentioning the CC. I ticked a box saying I wanted one on the online application form, and I'm not sure whether or not that means I've been granted one, or that I should await further news. Is that what happened for you?

Thanks for all the advice: I'm VERY happy about the account (if the CC comes in tow), and probably wouldn't have gone for it cos I was so worried about my low income if you hadn't said good things about it. Cheers!

Had a brilliant bargain today, I had brought a bike off ebay for my daughter and when I went to pick it up it was massive, it will be good for when she is older but is much too big for her birthday, so trudged across to halfords and saw 2 barbie bikes almost identical one with a pricetag of £80 in the sale and the other one with plastic wheels without a pricetag, so I assumed the one without a price would be cheaper because of the plastic wheels. I asked the assistant who looked into it and we were both very suprised to learn that the one with real wheels was the older model and the last one in the shop so I could have it for £40. It got even better when I produced a tow rope which we had brought for the car months ago and never needed and asked if I could return it, the bill was promptly reduced to £20.01, I am over the moon, a brand new barbie bike complete with streamers and doll carrier for £20. OH has been to toys r us and brought a couple of things for each of them so all in all we have spend £40 on each of them which I don't think is too bad at all.

The barclaycard bill is coming up at £6 in credit so we think we are ok to do the balance transfers to it for the 0%, I want to get it done before the holiday.

Oh and pickle the credit card came through around the same time as all the other bits of paperwork but as of yet we have not done any balance transfers to that as we have not had the need.

Thanks Emmie. Do you mean to say that once they accepted you for the bank account, that the CC came through automatically? This is the bit I'm stuck on.

Well done on the bikes: what bargains! :D I love it when that happens! (Did you buy the Ebay bike as well as the Barbie bike?)
