    Wow, that's great, Emmie! :T

Don't worry too much about the things like petrol etc. as you are still refining your budget. And don't worry about the fact that other months won't look as good as this one: there are so many times that you have 'one offs', but they all help.

Keep up the good work! :T

    Goals for February

    Shopping budget £200
    Petrol budget £120

Reduce Barclaycard 1 to £3000 (this is how much will be transfered to new santander zero card)

Reduce Barclaycard 2 to £1500 (This should be covered by budgetted debt repayments)

Do 5 dooyoo reviews (I am not too good at these at the moment, but I'm hoping that by xmas I will have enough credits to get some pressies from amazon)

Sell 5 items on Ebay (this will help to pay for the childrens birthday pressies in march)

Do at least 24 hours overtime (this is a more realistic amount so that I'm not shattered)

I don't know how much I will have in my treats budget yet cause I get paid on tuesday and then I will have some idea how much is left over after my planned debt repayments.

    Total Debt: [STRIKE]£24,359.79[/STRIKE] £16,452
    debt reduced by 32%
    Debt free date: May 2019

    Hi Emmie26

Just a reminder that February and March are usually free council tax money (if you pay the year over 10 months) so you can use these towards the debt
    Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
    ISA challenge start 2019 £3000/£1500 (50%)

    Well I am now Emmie27!:bdaycake:

Have been at work today  but had a good day, lots of little treats from friends and family so that was lovely, hubby a bit sheepish because all he had brought me was a dress and some flowers, but I was really chuffed the dress was lovely (he is like a straight gok wan! at least I hope he's straight) and he had baked me a cake so that was great :kisses3:

Best news all in all I had £100 which I think will be plenty for my treats budget for the month so I can put all 'spare' wages to debt repayments, making my £1000 a month target a little more doable. Although don't know how much I will pick up until tomorrow just hope that the tax man does not take any more money off me he is messing up my budget!_pale_

I did not realise that feb and march were council tax free it will be great if thats the case I'll have to look up the bill and see, thanks for that radish a nice little suprise on my birthday :T

Happy Birthday, sounds like you have had a lovely day, well done hubby :j

Hope you enjoy your council tax surprise (fingers crossed you have the "free" months).

Sometimes I think I'm sad getting excited about "free" council tax months and yearly mortgage statement :rotfl:

    :rotfl: and awwwww! ;)

Financially things sound better: an unexpected £100 and relief from a bill for two months isn't bad, is it?

    Happy birthday, Emmie! :bdaycake:

Well today OH's bank statement came through and as we are turning over a new financial leaf he actually looked at it, there was a strange deduction of £200 to axa insurance which he knew nothing about and after a hastily made telephone call it turns out that for the past three years he has been paying £200 a year for health insurance for the whole family. Within this time we have had numerous dental bills and my son was even in hospital at one point and we didn't even know we had the cover, he has now cancelled it and will get this years premium refunded but what a shocker, just goes to show how little interest we paid in where our hard earned cash was going.

Have looked into the council tax and no luck I pay mine in 12 equal installments.

In good news the tax man has not stolen any more of my money so have had a very healthy wage slip unfortunately by the time I had allocated it to all the different areas there is now none left but should nearly reach the £1000 target although think I will be a bit short.

Spent £4.50 today all on monthy work collections: coffee, lottery, birthday and leaving pressie.

That is what is good about the forums we are all like-minded (or eqully sad) I feel quite normal on here and then I go to work and mention my excitement at council tax and everybody looks at me with such pity, never mind lesson learnt I'll just have to sensor my MSE views at work from now on.;)

Ooh, now that is very annoying: if nothing else, you could have at least been using it! At least you are getting some money back from it which can be used to debt-bust. It's a good lesson for us all about how important it is to check the old bank statements every now and again.

And Emmie, TBH, I think it's probably a good thing to have your council tax spread over 12 months as it's a slightly lesser payment every month, and it also means you know EXACTLY how much you have to pay each month. Every cloud...(etc.)
