I dont know if you have morecuts butchers in your area. saw today thay they are doing turkey crowns complete with bacon rashers on top for £7.99 we dont have one where we live but they are in some towns quite nearby.0

quick update, netto are doing whole turkeys from £7.99 from tomorrow and from monday fresh turkey crowns at £6.99. hope this helps0

I got an 8.5kg frozen turkey in Netto today for £7.99 and they had a similar weight of turkey crowns for £10. I'm going to get a crown for sandwich meat over the holidays. It'll work out cheaper than buying little packs of cooked meat. Got a gammon too from the local market for the same reason.0

Try your local butchers for a deal, you might be surprised at the price. We always get ours through the same place each year and it's always cheaper than the equivalent in the supermarkets and *usually* from a local farm too.
I'd also recommend trying a breast joint too. It doesn't look quite as nice, but at the end of the day it's much better value as there is little or no waste and great for slicing up for buffets etc. The one we got last year was £13 and if I remember correctly, about 3KG which was plenty to feed 5 with left overs. I've already ordered ours for this year and been told they should be cheaper - last year for some reason the prices shot up.
Thats an amazing price, my local butchers is £9 a kilo. I've ordered a 3 kilo one.0 -

netto are currently selling frozen turkeys at around £7.99 for a 4.0-4.4kg Norland farms turkey. also, from monday 21st dec, they will be seling fresh and frozen turkey crown starting at £10.99 for a 2.0-2.2kg frozen crown. if you have a netto near you and you are budgeting this festive season, this may be the best option, i am certainly going to give it a try.:j:j0
