Now, I had you down as a Celsius girl ;)

OK, so that's still cold. When is DD due back? Then you can snuggle up on the settee together and keep warm.

Shall I cheer you up by showing you the weather forecast here for the next couple of days?

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/5?area=EH26

This is for Edinburgh. I am about 10 miles away and goodness knows how much higher up. Our temps are usually 2 degrees C below Edinburgh temps. Brrrrrr.

Celsius? That upstart thermal measure? Pah! I don't do that. I was brought up on feet and inches and old fashioned things like gallons (but not quite groats, though pecks and perches and rods and poles did feature occasionally).

Looking at the same site for where I am, we're in for -2 C (:p) tonight.

DD just sent a text - she's got there safe so I can breathe a sigh of relief for a couple of hours. I won't sleep, I fear, until she gets back tonight

You learn a new thing every day! I thought celsius was the old fashioned one! I do feet and inches and pounds and ounces even though I was taught metric at school ;);)

Going to see if decluttering some ice cream from the freezer will help my sore throat :o
  • thanks toochoosey I did after you and hex mentioned it - but they cant guarantee delivery for Christmas now so i wont chance it

  • thats good soappie.

have you seen this weather site - pop in your postcode and it gives it for your area and it gives it by the hour - I was given it by someone who fishes and they have found it very reliable.

Fahrenheit pipped Celsius at the post by about 20 years in the 1700s. Hope your sore throat eases.

Toots - do you have a Maplins near you? There is a whole range of these for kids:

Toots - sharpie pens are popular with boys that age (David Beckham advertises them)
they are very good. Balls - tennis/cricket if he plays sport. Beanie style hat. Magic gloves (one size fits all type). Bright coloured shoe laces are popular with some boys here. HTH a bit, most of it could be got at a fair size ASDA.

I've had my greenery which was in frozen buckets in the garden defrosting in the garage all day and have now done a couple of huge vases/buckets for the house and the table decoration for the living room. Managed to thaw out some forget-me-knots which I'd dug up and are now potted up as a present.

Turbo lister not working for me so a bit of quick old fashioned listing now.

Tootles - with my big clean/tidy this today i've completed FIVE lists - please could I have stars!

I might not have completed the attic but I've made a good start on it. I'm doing a binbag of carp and binbag for charity from the attic every week until it's cleared! The garage was converted into my clinic so there were no worries there!

Quick s/s of kitchen me thinks....tags....tell the puddies to come and have a holiday with me anytime soon! xx

Has anyone heard/used a site called stocking fillers?
    Are they any good?
Look's good but never heard of them

I use them loads.. never ever had a problem.

Off to do new list now.. sorry it's late it took forever to get down the M62.. major traffic delays for no apparent reason other than a dozen painfully slow gritters!
