soappie - even a candle burning in your bathroom and near your kitchen pipes will help stop them freezing
    toots xx

Thanks Toots, but it's the pipes to the boiler outside that I fret about most. But no, that's not really what I'm fretting about! It's DD...

Soappie - my sis was talking about fixing her boiler earlier using it - I'll send her a text

  • can you protect them with anything - are they expose - like old towells or a rug where ther are in the out house might help - and its only natural to worry but I am sure she will be fine - she is sensible isnt she - she must be she's your daughter xx

those halogen heaters are great because if they tip over they cut out - they are 11.99 here at the moment for a 3 bar one and 7.99 for a 2 bar. and they are cheap to run.

The pipes are lagged and thankyou for your confidence of sensibility! I'll look to alternative heating options in the morning. xx

Huge warm hugs for Soappie - what a nightmare.
Toots - I only ate one truffle and then I froze the rest :A. Worked far too hard to get here to throw it away now. I have noticed how much coldr it is without padding though :o.
Tag - lovely kittens, I hope you and your DD have many happy years with them.

ooh Poach Pods Triker, wanted some of those for ages......

and DH is on the phone to work yet again. It is Sunday night !!!!!!, Grossly unreasonable when he is not on call IMHO.

tooch - they are part of Hawkins bazar who are very good. Have a look on hotukdeals for discount code for P&P for a £1, quidco for 8% cashback
I was very tempted by the pre-filled stockings when I was panicing about time.

Current (sheltered) outside temp is 35F. Inside, the themo in my bedroom is showing 53F so it's not too cold yet inside, but it'll get that way soon...

Now, I had you down as a Celsius girl ;)

OK, so that's still cold. When is DD due back? Then you can snuggle up on the settee together and keep warm.

Shall I cheer you up by showing you the weather forecast here for the next couple of days?

This is for Edinburgh. I am about 10 miles away and goodness knows how much higher up. Our temps are usually 2 degrees C below Edinburgh temps. Brrrrrr.
