  • Morning everyone

It is lovely and sunny here but so cold!! DD finally made it into Sleaford - took her longer than expected s she missed the train. Bless her - she did look funny all bundled up in fleece, waterproof coat, hat gloves, scarf - so many layers she look a little round....:D I managed to find a flurescent jacket as there are no street lights over most of the walk and she left at 6.40am - also suprised myself and found a working torch for her.

I have phoned her work and warned them they she may not get in as there is no public transport on a Sunday - the bane of living in a rural place.

I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to Crafty for yesterday and to A&W's mum for today. Its my DS 19th birthday today but he is at his girl friend's so I won't see him until Monday. Can't get his present anyway as I have no car!!:rotfl::mad:

Right I best get flying as the house is dreadful and I have ebay parcels to wrap and send. So a quick shower first as the bathroom is freezing - then I will post a list after I have been to the Post Office.

Hope everyone is ok and please be careful on the ice.....

Thanks for all the kind thoughts guys, LO and i really appreciate them.

Hugs for you lil_me, how are you feeling today? Even when you kinda know what they are going to say, actually hearing them say it can hit you quite hard. One day at a time honey. xx

Methekidsand thecat....so glad your daughter made it, bless her...she deserves a medal for managing that journey. Hope you weren't worried too much. xx

I lived in a really rural place a number of years ago, there was a bus a week...I kid you not , so fully empathise with the lack of transport issues. Hope everything works out soon. xx

    Morning all :hello:

Thanks for the birthday wishes :) Miss A played happy birthday on her keyboard for me :D and I have opened the presents that are here, one from one of my bestest friend's, one from SIL and 1 from MIL. SIL called down for all of 5 mins the other day to drop her's off.

Not caught up on the thread at all but I do see it was Crafty's birthday yesterday, I hope you had a good day and it is Me's DS's birthday today as well.

I shall endeavour to catch up over the next day or so. Got swimming lessons this morning and then going to Mum and Dad's this afternoon.

Had to get a new mobile (well Mum and Dad did an emergency dash for me!) yesterday as mine decided to die on me. Loads of numbers stored in the phone are now lost :( I hate having to get used to a new one and will have to read the instructions re changing predictive text choices!

Better jump on the shower and get organised, hope you all have a good day. I need you all to help eat these cakes ;)

toochoosey yes they work, just not legal to download games
Triker thanks for the reminder, one of DS1s always needs ordering in so will phone them. Hope you find the key, can any of us help with the bike issue? I think maybe parcelfarce could pick it up? Or are we talking motor bike?
macpep I'd tell his family to come round boxing day, or move dinner to another day. My Dad used to work on the day a lot & we didn't see extended family on Christmas day
G&B thanks, I am ok, hows your wonderful DD this morning?
embb if you don't have an ice scraper yes, or I use my rubber broom, and thank you x
soappie thanks, it was -4 when I last checked here, good idea with the bus, there are 4 cars with recent dents/squashed fronts since the snow started in this street alone

Feeling better today apart from a tiredness headache, just grabbed a cuppa then going to get in the shower. The present for DPs brother arrived, Fossil watch. looks really nice but it smells odd. I am quite suprised with DP as this year he's made suggestions of what to buy some people. Just waiting for thorntons (got sooo cross with them) amazon & avon. Was nice to say 'we are all sorted apart from wrappings and food' when he asked if I wanted to go to the outlet centre on Sunday after he opens up for his club. Nice of him to offer too, he's after something.

Todays list for me (well the first bit)

Sort through the boxes still in the LR, I think there is 12, decide what can be put away, flung & garaged
    Find peoples presents
Fill DW & get it started
    TD & WM switch
Phone old gas supplier, I'm not paying a final bill for 7501 units reading when it's 7231 now & was 7066 when switched!
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
