ASDA,money taken twice from my card.

Hi,
I ordered a game online from ASDA,all ok,until the payment was taken TWICE!!They sent me an e-mail saying the would send me a sticker to put on the envelope to send it back,as it was their error,if they do not get the 2nd copy back they would keep the money,I told them to put the money back on my card ASAP,I did NOT ask for the second copy to be sent,I need the money on my card, not in their bank. What are my rights in this instance???Thanks.

Send the 2nd copy and you should have your money back - that is your right. What more do you expect?

I expect them NOT to take 2 lots of money from my card, and I expect them NOT to threaten me by refusing to give it back if they do not get it back,I am being charged the interest on THEIR mistake,I did NOT ask for 2 copies,I ordered and paid for ONE.But they charged me twice.Fair enough?

If its a credit card, you wont be charged interest as the refund will hit within the interest free period and cancel out the second transaction (as long as you send it back sharpish)

If you have two copies just send the second one back, problem solved. If you haven't got two copies and asda have double charged you then thats a different matter and one you need to take up with asda and your credit card provider

Do you expect them to refund you without having the second game back leaving you free to stick it on ebay or the like and end up with a free game?

Maybe you are dishonest, but I'm not,I was charged twice for 1 order, that is wrong.

Have you received 2 copies of the game you ordered once?
If so then in my opinion it would be dishonest and wrong of you to expect to keep 2 copies while paying for just 1.

    What they said

Lets just raise the bar a little. If you have paid £10000 for a new car and by mistake 2*£10000 had been debited from your card and you have received two cars. Would you honestly expect the garage to refund you £10000 without having been given back the car.

Trouble is he could and should send it back. What would happen then if the store do not receive it back..?. This time of year is rife for stuff going missing espically with all the part time temporary workers the royal mail take on.

Would he get his money back if say someone nicked it..?. Should he send it back recorded and if so would the store be willing to foot the bill.?.

Hang on a minute here,I have only got 1 copy, thats what I ordered and expected to pay for 1 copy, they have taken the money TWICE without my consent, let me repeat,I HAVE ONLY 1 COPY OF THE GAME,if and when I get the other copy the say they have posted,I will send that back,I am not dishonest,in the meantime they have the money for the 2nd game that I DID NOT ask for, or order, that is showing on my card statement.I want that money back whether or not the game arrives,I did not order 2 games, simple.
Hell, is that wrong,IT WAS THEIR ERROR,I AM PAYING FOR IT.
Needless to say,I will not be buying from ASDA online again.

And what if it does get lost in the post?I will get a certificate of posting.
What ASDA did is WRONG,would you like it if you had no money left on your card to spend????????????????:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

~Laughs~ You need to explain yourself a bit more clearly then. From your first post i assumed you had been sent and received both games, nowhere in that post did you say you only received one copy. I can't really advise you on where you stand legally, but suffice to say i do agree with you in that they should refund your money straight away. What does the order status say..?. Does it say a second copy has been despatched.?. I can see all sorts of trouble if they have not sent it but think they have. Then again if it's the same game i am suprised they didn't send both togther.

    Goodluck.
