what is the cheapest way to call eire from a mobile?

My hubby sometimes calls Eire on his mobile to do with work and I have noticed on his last bill that vodafone charged nearly £1 per minute! There must be a cheaper way than this - can anyone help? Thankx

I know, what a rip off! Theres no pattern to his usage - he made 3 calls last month and used about 25 minutes. (adding up to about £23). I'm trying to find out a cheaper way now cause there's a possibility he will have to make more calls in the future. I did ring vodafone and they offerd me vodafone international for £5 per month which sounds ok, but i'm not sure he will need to use every month......ta

Get a call card: I have one and I ring the access number (a landline) which only uses up my free minutes, and then I call foreign countries from that. It's excellent value, lasts ages, and the only problem is that it's so long since I had to buy one that I've lost the link to the website of the one I use! I'm sure that there are lots out there, though. ;) Google it!

    Good luck!

If he has inclusive minutes he can call an Eire Landline out of them at no extra charge via these folks www.calldiscounts.com 020 geographical access number.:D

Or he could sign up to someone like localphone for cheaper rates useing a geographical access number .

  • get an 02 your country sim, top up £10 and get 50 free mins, then your £10 can be used too. rate after the free mins is cheaper too, so may be worth a look

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.
