Transfer to NR - Tax Year question

Hi

I've complete the application form for a stepped ISA with NR and a transfer form as I wish to transfer a Tax Haven ISA from 2007/08.

I've never transferred an ISA so apologies if I'm being a bit thick. The application form states 'I apply to subscribe to a 3 Yr Stepped Fixed Rate Cash ISA (Issue 1) for the tax year 2009 to 2010'. Clearly, I want the 2007/08 ISA transferring so I'm not applying to use my cash-ISA allowance this year.

Is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. The key part of the wording is "I apply to subscribe" - you are only applying, not actually subscribing. Subscribing only occurs when you pay in new money (not transferred money).

Make sure you also fill out a transfer form.
