Are all sky HD programs broadcast in HD?

I have posted this question on the Digital tv section but not sure if i may get more joy here:
Hope someone can help, we are having sky HD fitted on Tuesday and we can't decide which TV to have it on. We have a 40" Sony 720 and a 37" LG full HD 1080 but i have heard not all programmes are in HD and/or 1080 is this true? As it is we thought we would have it on the LG tele but this is not in our main room and is slightly smaller but is 1080 but then would we see the difference in picture quality in the 2 tv's. We are confused and need to decide by Tuesday we have also thought we could swap the tv's if it would definitely make a difference in 1080 or 720.
Just to let you know we have a playstation3 on the 1080 and we think it makes a big difference to the picture but we are no experts.
Thanks in advance.

They are all broadcast in HD but some are not originally recorded in HD so they have been upscaled. The size difference in your tvs is not much difference so quality picture wise will look similar (also depending on the quality of the TV)0

I'm pretty sure that sometimes Sky Sports HD broadcast non HD programmes on their channel, and the quality is the same as Sky Sports ordinary channels. I'm thinking of the cricket from South Africa recently?0 -

also sky broadcasts at 1080i not 1080p so the larger tv would be better imho.
only bluray movies use 1080p currently.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
The fact that sky charge extra for upscaled SD content and have the nerve to call it HD is disgusting to me:idea:0

Just out of interest I just seen the ad for E4 HD and the picture quality on my freeview image seemed better than normal. Is it cause they are broadcasting a slightly higher than normal signal for the HD image ad so that you think wow and get it?Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

You can't get E4HD on Freeview (as yet you can't get any HD on Freeview, as the boxes are not yet available). E4HD is available only on Sky at present.
When HD does becomes available on Freeview, the transmission method is on a completely different standard to Freeview SD, so you won't see any improvement in the SD signal. No free lunch, and no free laptop

the stuff that is filmed in HD really is a step up in picture quality . i cannot watch ( and enjoy) a football match on TV anymore unless it is HD .
Thank god you can get ITV HD if you know how ( world cup is coming ) see here for how

although why they don't think their flagship program X factor does not deserve the HD treatment is beyond me .it would look sensational and it's not like the channel is packed full of content .
Movies in HD can be a mixed bag ( like Blu Ray) some look no better than a DVD because of a poor transfer , but most are given a new lease of life . i Watched the 70's classic " The Shining" in HD a few weeks ago and it looked superb .
However somethings on the HD channels look bad. any Simpsons episode made before the Movie look terrible ( not to mention the aspect ratios not working ), and we always switch to standard def to watch them .
if you want to see the best of HD you will really need those 1080 lines IMO. and while not wishing to start another tedious HDMI cable debate , for a Fiver this does a totally decent job for me ( and no i cannot tell any difference between it and a £70 chord company HDMI i also own , and yes i have expensive set up )

I think the BBC HD channel looks worse than it used to, dont know if they have done something to it or my eyesight has got worse0
