HELP - unlock a sony erricson z520i ?

Hi

Found a great deal on the z520i, it was £69 albeit refurbished from 02 (6 months warrenty)

anyway, i want to unlock this phone as i want to use it on orange,
I know its individual for the IMEI so was wondering where i can get it done for free?

you need a data cable for it these are usually about £10 but dont forget once you have the cable you can use it to connect your phone to the computer for ringtones etc with the sony software. the alternative is take it to a shop and pay

Is it actually an unlock cable or a data cable, my mate has a data cable i can use.

Depends on which phone platform it's built around - if it's the T610/630 you'll need and unlock cable, if it's the K750i, w800i the data cable can do it.

Have a hunt on esato.com, there's bound to be instructions on there somewhere.

all sony ericssons have to be done directly( via cable)
i got my k700i unlocked for £10 and it took about 5 mins

please show me where you have seen that you can unlock a k750i,w800i CID 36 or CID 49 with a DCU60 data cable? i would be interested to see how they power the flash chip with an unconnected pin or a positive pull up resistor to get 4.5v.

the dcu60 can only reflash & debrand - not unlock
