gosh..I don't fancy paying anyone to hold my money for me...

I use two co-op accounts...one gets my wages paid in....and pays out food petrol and extras....the other gets the essential bills amount ,DD's etc..I pay this in each payday...and the card sits at home, so cannot be used when out....I also pay in so much a month for leccy, car tax, prescriptions etc, this builds up......

then theres the small question of my co-op divvy payment....
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

I have just been looking for that clause in the T&C:

    http://www.mycashplus.co.uk/cashplusDefault/TermsCond.pdf

I must admit that I couldn't find it, but I could be wrong?

Certainly, on the 'Pay Monthly' and Pay Monthly Deluxe' options, their website clearly states "No fee if no balance."

As the Cashplus is a fullblown 'Mastercard', whereas most 'basic' bank accounts only offer Maestro debit cards or Visa 'Electron', then the cashplus card could, for most people, be complimentary to a Bank Account.

Thats what I was looking at, look at the table on the right title 'Fee's Summary' and look at 'Account Maintenance'. It says 'Account maintenance (only applies if Account has no transactions including top-ups for a period of 120 days from date of last transaction)' and the fee's are 4.95 per month.

That to me says that if you dont use the card then 120 days after the last transaction they will start charging you 4.95 a month.
  • I have the Cashplus £29.99 a year one and I find it invaluable. I am fully checked out so I can hire a car on it (if I post £1000 or so) but I would not get rid of it even if I got back into the mainstream.

I can load it in 30 minutes, check online instantly, use it everywhere and no fees, except £1 for cash machines, which I do not use, so for me, it is £30 a year and very worthwhile.

As for cashing out, I believe the fee is £10. I would just draw it down to zero and let it expire.

Must admit, Gaz, I had not noticed that. It actually says 'up to' £4.95 a month. It does seem at odds with what they say on their homepage.

    Possibly needs clarification.

Can you use it to check into a hotel?

  • Can you use it to check into a hotel?

I've used mine to check into a hotel.

They wouldn't allow me the car hire facility though lately when I asked, but advised I ask again in 3 months time...
