I'm going to start looking for a can crusher on ebay today. Thanks everyone for this really useful discussion. How do you tell aluminium cans from steel? (or is that a really stupid question??).
We've got a lot of old household wires and cables that we have no idea where they came from or what they are for, so we are burning the plastic off them to weigh in when we have a decent sized bag.
A scrapyard that we have used before actually take old clothing for £1/10kg so that's also worth looking into.
that is cheap... for the clothes...i would phone around your textile recyclers in your area....Work to live= not live to work0 -
I can get pallets from work but have no idea where I would sell the firewood. Do you sell yours by the ton or do you split it down and sell small amounts by the bag? Who do you sell to and where?
Thanks
Poo
Sorry Poo,
haven't been on here for ages. Due to circumstances I haven't done alot in the last couple of years, but intend getting back to it.
As for the wood/pallets & who I sell to. Ebay was one market to look at. You could post a ad on Gumtree & Friday-ad online.
The best response was from putting up a postcard in shop windows & local supermarkets that advertise local communities boards.
Hope this helps0
