Faulty Mobile Phone - Orange
I have a faulty battery i think on my LG Renoir KC910, i start a call and within 5 mins the low battery alert comes on.
I have only had the phone since April and Orange's stance is as its over 6 months they cant do anything and all i have been given is a no. for LG and a web address for repairmob.com. The website seems to indicate a £17 handling fee is needed and i dont see why i should be paying anything to have my phone repaired if i have only been using the phone 8 months.
Does anyone know if i should be fighting my corner and demanding that Orange help? I am on a 2 year contract so cant really threaten to cancel, i have been with Orange for 10 years and they cant seem to do anything!
I do have home contents insurance, but should i be effecting this to get my phone fixed or replaced and in so doing effect my future premium price because of claiming?
Thanks in advance!

Firstly, to try and work out where the problem is, have you tried using another battery in the handset? That would be the first thing I'd do. Once doing that you know if the problem is the phone or battery.
If it's the battery then it is indeed correct in that the warranty is only six months unless you've purchased Orange Care (even then the battery would only be six months). My best suggestion would be to go out and just buy another battery from one of those phone shops/market stall places and try it out.0 -
Hi Sangunius,
I agree with lufcgirl, trying another battery would be ideal to find out whether this is where the problem lies. However, I understand that you may not have a spare battery lying around and wouldn't want to go to the expense of buying a new one as your handset is still relatively new itself.
All phones will come with some form of manufacturers warranty and it may be worth checking with LG support to see if you are covered. The link is here -

I trust that you will be able to get this resolved, please let us know how you have got on.
All the best,
