That sounds alot to me. Do you have a meter? I pay just over £300 a year, I don't have a meter, 3 bed semi 1 bathroom 1 toilet
2 adults and an 8 year old0 -
Martin's rule of thumb is if you have more people than bedrooms don't have a meter as it will work out more expensive.
I pay about £480 a year with AW, non metered. 3 beds, 1 bath, toilet but washing machine and bath on a lot. We can't have a shower due to inadequate water pressure and a combi boiler, so run 2 baths a day.0 -
Is that based on estimated meter readings or actual meter readings?(assuming you have a meter)
Are you being charged for surface water drainage?
With 4 people the average water use will be 240 cubic metres per year. So for 6 months 120 Cubic metres.0 -
house has 3 toilets , a shower and a bath.
looks like my last bill was £361.41
the bill says it is a meter - meter size is 15mm ???
Readings
present read - 09/12/09 std rate 1235
previous read - 1148
volume used cubic metres(m3) 87
water supply
volume used 87m3 x 128.64p = £111.91
standing charge 183 days x 7.40p = £13.53
sewerage service
volume used - 78.30m3 x 142.35p = £111.46
standing charge - 183 days x 20.55p = £37.600 -
Check this bill or the last was not estimated, AW are billing 4 times a year if you are paying cash/cheque and its read 2 times, if paying on direct debit its billed twice a year and read once.0

Your bill seems to depend a lot on where you live. My son is soon to be moving to a tiny back to back house in Cardiff on his own.
There is only one bathroom and no garden to water. His annual bill is approx £570.
No doubt he will be getting a meter asap.
We had one installed in our 5 bed house when there were just the 2 of us. We halved our bill.0
