BT bb, new hub needed

woke this morning to find bb not working, rang bt, ever helpful as always, they said i need i new hub and as mine is now over 12mths old i have to pay for a replacement!!! WHAT, this is a con, i cant get out of my contract for another 3mths, now they want me to buy more equipment?
anyone had anything similar? how can i avoid paying again?

You don't need a Home Hub, any standard ADSL modem/router will do the job (usually better than the HH).
Did you mention to BT that you might be taking your business elsewhere if they couldn't supply one FOC?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

thanks for the replies, bt finally agreed to send a new hub, but its obviously stuck in the xmas rush as not arrived yet. i will be cancelling my account in january when the disconnection fee drops a bit more.0

BT Support
BT could help them out by supplying free replacements for faulty electrical goods supplied & paid for that are meant to last & it is reasonable to assume they should last more than an year!Not Again0
