I have aol broadband ive had it for almost 2 years now, last year i phoned up to cancel it and after 20 mins on phone was offered a deal of going from £24.99 to £19.99 so i took it but now since seeing talk talks deal i want to cancel but aol refuses to let me go is there a way round this as u dont sign contracts with them and so surely they cannot be upheld.Any info would be appreciated thanks .

verbal contract, if you've agreed then theres not a lot you can do in all honesty. Sayin that i wouldnt want to go to talk talk's service so imo you would be doing a lot worse0

you sign up for 1 years contract. after the 12 months is up it runs on a month by month contract. tell them you want to leave. you dont want any offers or deals by way of a reduction. it is your right to choose whichever broadband supplier you want after your original 12 month contract. also, an easier way is to ring up whoever you want, set up the account with them and for an uninterupted changeover, ring aol and ask for your migration code. they CANNOT refuse you. you then ring your new supplier and give them this, it usually takes a few days but you still get to use the internet. stand your ground with aol.
if you are firm but polite tehy will eventually get the message.
ps dont forget aol is in the process of possibly selling up in europe.0 -

not strictly true, its at their discretion to give a MAC code0 -
I've been with AOL for a few years on their £19.99 for broadband gold service. Has anyone gotten a better deal when threatening to cancel quoting talktalk's free broadband? The best I got was £24.99 for the platinum service with free wireless modem (which I don't need).0

I have Aol Platinum and threatened to cancel and they gave me platinum for £24.99 a free wireless router and a free month.0
