Failed my security questions with Inland Revenue

    I can endorse what Kelly says.
    HMRC only hold information which you have given them (and your employer in terms of pay and tax). When did you ever tell HMRC where you were born?

    morphine based painkillers, ugg boots, cant stop shopping in the supermarkets and on benefits so your spending my money...i think you should use all the repayment to pay me back.
    Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
    current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
    Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)

    new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,000

    what you are saying is sort of correct, statements are in the process of being posted out from the returns submitted before the Oct 31st deadline. So if you have had a statement it would be genuine.

    If your bank details were on the return then any overpayment would be automatially repaid via BACS so that sounds correct.

    Place of birth - not on HMRC records so you couldn't have been asked it. Maybe you misheard. place of birth for date of birth.

    HMRC allow you 2 wrong answers before the system locks out. so was something else wrong ?

    rereading the first post, you have spoke to someone already who confirmed the repayment, so you cleared security then, its when you called back that you failed security. Presumably nothing has changed so perhaps you misheard a question, although if you had come through to me you would have been entitled to "fail another question" as well
