I've been informed by woolworths that I am being charged £7.95 as I was not entitled to free delivery. I have just sent them a snotty e-mail stating I did not authorise £7.95 to be deducted as my order came up as £4 my confirmation e-mail states -£2 and they have no right to take what they like from account. No explanation has been given for the inconsistent e-mails, and account information.

Oh no, that will truly suck if they make it stick. I made three separate orders because the first duvet sets I ordered weren't what I really wanted but I couldn't make the others work. Then I figured out how to make the other sets work, so placed another order. Then someone mentioned the deal with pillowcases, and I placed the final order. I would've rather done it all at once, but couldn't work it out in the beginning. I will be an unhappy bunny if I get charged nearly 12 quid for delivery on items I wouldn't have gotten if the shipping hadn't been free!

I agree they should not be able to charge you more after the fact. If they wanted to tell me before shipping the cost was more and give me a chance to cancel, that I would agree with. But doing it after it's too late to change your mind is bogus. Please tell us if you have any luck getting the charges removed!

I placed 2 orders and used the free delivery code on both orders, although I knew I wasn't entitled to use it, as I didn't spend the qualifying amount:oHowever, I am happy to pay for standard delivery, if they decide to charge me, but I won't be happy paying for express delivery when I didn't ask for this option!! good luck with the e-mail. Let us know what they say.

  • Just checked mine, yippy, they say they have all been dispatched, ordered a king size for me and 3 doubles for sis and bros, cost to me £14 so im happy

  • it was via e-mail.

    I received this

    Dear Customer

I am sorry for the inconsistency in the information you have been given. I can confirm that the total order value is £7.95, which includes two duvet cover sets at £2.00 each plus the £3.95 delivery charge.

The offer for free standard delivery only applies to orders of £30.00 or more, which is stated in the terms and conditions of the offer online. Therefore, if the terms are not met the offer can be reversed. This is also explained in the terms and conditions.

I am sorry for the confusion and any inconvenience that may have been caused.

If you have any further questions, just let me know - I'll be happy to help you.

    So I replied with this

I would therefore like to cancel my order as I feel misled by your site, communication with myself and disgusted by the fact you feel you can deduct what you like from my account when I have not authorised it. Your site put free delivery on my order without my request and you then try to charge higher amounts. I will not be using woolworths in future and will be warning family and friends of the same.

I look forward to confirmation of cancellation of my order with immediate affect and also confirmation that no funds have been taken.

    Regards

    C Bradshaw

    And got this back
    Dear Customer

Thanks for getting in touch with Woolies.
We’re really sorry to hear that you want to cancel your order for the amber duvet cover set (RI8241B).

We’ve cancelled your order for you, but it may be too late to stop it being sent out.
If your order does arrive, all you need to do is refuse delivery or arrange a collection.
Sorry if this has caused you any problems. If you need more help, just email us by clicking the reply button.
We hope you’ll shop again with woolworths.co.uk soon.

Nice acknowledgement of my e-mail!! I wouldn't mind but I didn't enter the free delivery code, it came up free, don't know whether it was stored from a previous order or what. Bad customer service as far as I'm concerned.
  • recieved my order today 4 double duvet sets

was cahrged £2 each with no postage as far as i can see,

but if i am charged for postage i dont mind as they are still a bargin even if you add the postage on top.

should be right for bedding for a long while now, unless another super bargin comes along:D

    thanks op:T
