Primark is good, i'm also a fan of ebay, i'm a fan of Ruby Gloom t-shirts, which new, are £30-£40 a time, and ebay I can get them for about £3-£4 second hand, which helped a lot during my student days.
Also, keep an eye out on newspapers and free to collect pages - I've had a binbag full of second hand clothes for £3, and most them them were quite nice, some were new items!~*Cerenia*~
