T Mobile HD2 Warning
Hi I have recently bought a HD2 on Tmobile and just thought I would warn you about it, whilst it is a great phone and I got a great deal on it there is one problem, T-Mobile have changed the original rom on the HTC HD2. Their version has taken away the capabilities of any kind of video streaming, even on your own wifi network.
Yes its absolutely mental!!!! The most powerful handset with the biggest screen on the market and T-Mobile have taken these facilities away, no Youtube, BBC iplayer absolutely no video streaming.
The only way around this is by flashing your handset and putting the original HTC rom on there. But this is not advisable, you would loose your warranty with T-Mobile and could damage the phone if not done correctly.
When speaking to T mobile they are denying its their fault but reading around it appears that it is only a problem that Tmobile users have and it is in relation to their ROM, perhaps its their way of reducing the data usage, but I think its awful and may well try and cancel my contract.

The phone and contract as seperate, unless you brought it online and it was delivered within the last 5 days (DSR) you can't cancel for any phone related issues, only issues with the mobile signal/service.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -

If you like a challenge, you could dump the original ROM (I did it on the Xperia) and then flash whatever you like. I used it when I sent it back for replacement, they were none the wiser.
Also, you cannot damage (brick) a WM phone permanently.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
With respect, DC, while you may be right that you can't cancel because you don't like the phone, or many phone related issues, I think that there may be a case here which will stand up.DarkConvict wrote: »The phone and contract as seperate, unless you brought it online and it was delivered within the last 5 days (DSR) you can't cancel for any phone related issues, only issues with the mobile signal/service.
If steve has seen the spec of the HD2 and then seen a contract advertised as providing an HD2, his reasonable expectation of having certain HD2 features has been frustrated by the customised ROM. That sounds like a case to me.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
