And more people use firefox than those that use osx... what your point???

I don't know, what is your point?

You're the one who seems to think no one uses Safari. By extension, no one uses Linux either.
Swap firefox with iphone and extensions with apps and you have another point. Anyway its besides the point it does have the extensions. If it didn't I'd probably be using something else but it does so I do.

Hardly. One is a browser, the other is a mobile hardware platform.

You seem to like Firefox's extensions, yet you have no interest in the iPhone's apps, so either you have some cognitive dissonance headed your way, or you already understand the difference.

Once Chrome's extensions take off, it's game over for Firefox. I hope you enjoyed using it while it lasted.

I do. Besides linux is more secure than safari which I believe is the reason why two years in a row osx fell before windows at the annual hacker contest. Ouch.

    Same argument applies.;)

Never used an iphone app so dont know whether I'd like them or not, cant voice an opinion other than I haven't used them so far so can manage without them, its not lack of interest its lack of experience. Cant say the same about firefox extensions though since I use them all the time.

So no I've no cognitive dissonance for two reasons; one my views aren't contradictory because of the above mentioned and two if its good enough for quantum theory cognitive dissonance is good enough for me.

Safari lost because the people who decided to look for a vulnerability in it spent 6 months doing so before the contest. I'm sure the MacBook offered as a prize for cracking it was a nice incentive too.

Still, I suppose that's what Apple get for using open source code, eh?

The only one I regularly use is AdBlock. Anything else for me would just be to replicate functionality already in Safari.

Now whose the one with cognitive dissonance:rolleyes:

One minute its good for apple to use opensource in one argument now its not, make up your mind. Especially as you like to mention they made the opensource bit.

    For myself safari lags behind.

I have no problem with Apple using open source software. I think it's great that they engage with developers and often open source their own technologies.

But I'm not the one saying Safari is not secure, you are. My question was a rhetorical one.

Try Safari and Firefox out on OS X, and it might alter your perceptions of the two browsers. Mozilla's Camino is much nicer on a Mac than Firefox.

I'm not saying its insecure I wouldn't know, the hackers have proved it is. And the hackers nearly always blame apple for it since apple are extremely slow at patching these security holes.

Would if I could but I cant.

They certainly proved there are security holes in it, that much is clear. There are security holes in every program, including Firefox.
